Cue the holiday music, because it’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, Christmas isn’t around the corner or anything, but the NFL season is finally here. It’s been several months since we’ve seen any meaningful NFL action, and we’re very excited to tune in tonight.
The NFL chose wisely with their first game this season, as the Baltimore Ravens are traveling to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. This is, of course, a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship, which should have plenty of built-in drama. It will be interesting to see how it all goes down, especially considering how the Chiefs started the 2023 season.
They lost to the Detroit Lions in the season opener, but still managed to win the Super Bowl despite taking an L to begin the year.
Will they have better luck tonight? We’ll soon see. For now, let’s take a peek at our favorite Underdog props for the night, hoping we can sweep the board. Let’s get after it!
We all know that Lamar Jackson is one of the most prolific rushing quarterbacks in league history. However, he’s never had a running back like Derrick Henry behind him, and we think the Ravens might limit his rushing opportunities, letting Henry take a lot of that work.
This is a risky play considering we haven’t seen these two together, but we’re more than willing to take the gamble.
After waffling back and forth between Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy’s receiving lines, we decided to go with Rice in the end. Rice has more experience, albeit just one season, and we believe he will be the Chiefs’ No. 1 wide receiver in this game.
Travis Kelce might get more targets down the stretch, but with Hollywood Brown sidelined, look for Rice to be the clear-cut WR1, achieving at least 62 yards in the process. The Ravens do have a solid secondary, but they can’t stop everyone.
We expect a massive game from Taylor’s boyfriend tonight. Kelce torched the Ravens in the AFC Championship last year, gobbling up 11 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown.
He should be targeted at least nine times in this game, as we believe Patrick Mahomes will be a big advocate for his favorite pass-catcher.
We’ll rinse and repeat Kelce’s analysis and use similar logic for Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews. Andrews continues to be the top dog in this offense, and as long as he stays healthy, he should end the year with the most catches on the roster.
Look for Jackson to go back to the well early and often, peppering Andrews with at least five catches.
