With Thanksgiving Day in our rearview mirror, the NFL’s Week 12 schedule is chocked full of games that yield exciting player prop bets. Which players and prop bets should savvy bettors choose after Thanksgiving Day?
Read on to see our “four sure” NFL Week 12 player prop bets for Sunday’s contests.
Despite having an off year, Tennessee RB Derrick Henry still ranks in the top 10 tailbacks in terms of rushing yards (663) and carries (158). The Titans continue to rely on the eight-year veteran as he’s scored 40% of his team's points (six total TDs) in 2023.
There is no better cure for a RB having an off year than seeing the Carolina Panthers as your next opponent. Carolina is the league’s worst rushing defense against RBs, having allowed 16 total TDs scored by players in that position in 2023.
Expect Henry to become the next player to do so in this Week 12 matchup.
Another top 10 tailback appears in our predictions this week as Cincinnati’s Joe Mixon is a safe Sunday bet.
Mixon has been the Bengals’ most-consistent offensive weapon this year, recording 605 rushing yards and four TDs on 153 carries. He’s also caught one TD pass in 2023.
The Steelers have allowed RBs to score in six of their previous seven games, including last week against the Cleveland Browns. Expect Mixon to add to Pittsburgh’s streak Sunday as Cincinnati rebounds from their poor performance against Baltimore in Week 11.
After back-to-back poor performances, Buffalo QB Josh Allen posted a strong performance in Week 11 against the New York Jets, tossing three TDs in his team’s 32-6 win.
Allen threw TD passes to three different players, but WR Stefon Diggs – the team leader with 77 catches, 895 yards and 7 receiving TDs – was left out of the fun.
Expect Allen to connect with Diggs this weekend against the Eagles. Philadelphia has surrendered the most TDs to WRs this season, a by-product of the Eagles leading in most games and forcing teams to use the passing game late. In Week 12, Diggs adds to the Eagles’ league-leading total with his eighth TD catch this year.
Fantasy owners and Falcons’ fans alike have been disappointed in Atlanta TE Kyle Pitts this season. The third-year player has split time with fellow TE Jonnu Smith, leading Pitts to record only 35 receptions for 419 yards and one TD in 2023.
New Orleans, meanwhile, has allowed the most TDs to the TE position this year. In the Saints’ past three contests, the defense has allowed the position to record four TDs and at least one in all three games.
While the timeshare with Pitts makes this wager risky, Pitts is long overdue his second TD this season. Expect whoever mans the QB position to target both Pitts and Smith, but expect Pitts to come out with a score to secure this player prop bet.
