3 Best Props to Back for Cowboys vs Packers on Sunday Night Football

Christian Watson, Javonte Williams and Matthew Golden headline our three best player props for Cowboys vs Packers on Sunday Night Football at Lambeau Field.

Sunday Night Football brings the Dallas Cowboys (2-3) to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers (3-2) at 8:20 PM ET on NBC, and the oddsmakers are basically shrugging. Green Bay is a 1.5-point favorite, and the total is sitting in the low 50s, which is sportsbook language for “bring snacks, because points are coming.”

When two defenses are this shaky, the player prop board is where the fun lives. We skipped the quarterbacks and the usual suspects and went hunting across the whole menu for the three strongest swings: one wide receiver on a heater, one running back who treats the goal line like a personal vending machine, and one second-year pass catcher whose role is growing at exactly the right time.

Christian Watson Is Making Defensive Backs Look Silly

Christian Watson (#9) is having the kind of season that makes a fifth-year receiver look like a brand-new player. Through five games he has 26 catches for 474 yards and six touchdowns, an average of 94.8 yards per game. He has cleared 79.5 yards three times this season, including games of 147, 96 and 143, and he is coming off a six-catch, 143-yard night.

The matchup is the real kicker. Dallas has been dreadful against the pass, ranking last in opponent dropback EPA while giving up 8.1 yards per attempt. With Jordan Love looking his way early and often at Lambeau, a Watson deep shot feels less like a possibility and more like a scheduled event.

The number you will find depends on the book: BetMGM has his receiving yards at 72.5 (-115), FanDuel has it at 76.5, and some other shops have crept toward 79.5. Grab the lowest number you can find. Even at 72.5, Watson has cleared it in the majority of his games, and his anytime touchdown price sits around +120 for anyone feeling frisky.

Javonte Williams Is the Goal Line Landlord

Every touchdown board has a pillar, and tonight it is Javonte Williams (#33). He is the shortest price on the entire anytime touchdown list, listed at -175 at BetMGM and as short as -220 at FanDuel. That is a hefty price, but it reflects reality: Williams has six rushing touchdowns through five games for Dallas, plus a receiving score, and he is the clear workhorse when the Cowboys get near the end zone.

The yardage has not been pretty (276 rushing yards on 74 carries, 3.7 yards per attempt), but touchdowns do not care about efficiency. He has been in the end zone in the large majority of his recent outings, and Green Bay’s defense just lost help up front, with Javon Hargrave (Achilles) and Jonathan Ford (calf) both ruled out on the defensive line. His rushing yardage line sits at 50.5, with a projection near 70.

Short prices are not always fun, but if you are building a parlay or looking for a sturdy anchor, this is the one name on the board with a job description that says “score touchdowns.”

Matthew Golden Is the Sneaky Plus-Money Play

If you want the plus-money swing, meet Matthew Golden (#0). The second-year wideout has 397 receiving yards on the season and has gone from a speedy deep threat as a rookie to a legitimate top target. His anytime touchdown price is hovering around +130, with some books drifting even higher.

The role is the story. Green Bay is down to four active wide receivers, with Skyy Moore (ankle) ruled out and Savion Williams (ankle) questionable and still on injured reserve. That leaves Golden with a big slice of the snaps and a prime spot on the field when the Packers get into scoring range. Dallas cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is also questionable with an ankle injury, which would only help the Green Bay receivers.

It is also a nice complement to the Watson pick. If Dallas rolls extra coverage toward the Packers’ hottest receiver, Golden is the guy who benefits. Weather should not get in the way either, with the National Weather Service calling for a mostly sunny day around 63 degrees and a partly cloudy night in Green Bay.

The Card for Sunday Night

If you want to keep it simple, here are the three plays from tonight’s board, with the prices we found. Odds move, so check your own book before you lock anything in, and if you are comparing lines across apps, our player prop search is a handy place to start.

  • Christian Watson OVER 72.5 receiving yards (-115 at BetMGM)
  • Javonte Williams anytime touchdown (-175 at BetMGM, -220 at FanDuel)
  • Matthew Golden anytime touchdown (around +130)

Two receivers in a matchup that favors them and a running back with the best goal line job in the game. It is Sunday night, the over looks tempting, and the board is loaded. Enjoy the show, and bet responsibly.
