Through two games he’s now hauled in 9 of 13 targets for 140 yards, good for a 70.0 yards-per-game clip that puts him firmly back in the WR1 conversation for this offense.

The matchup lines up nicely, too. Los Angeles has tightened up its overall pass defense numbers this season, but it’s still been vulnerable to wide receivers specifically, ranking among the more generous units in the league against the position. With Bo Nix looking Waddle’s way early and often and the Rams’ top cornerback still adjusting to life without his old running mate, there’s a clear path for Waddle to clear 57.5 receiving yards for a second straight week.

RJ Harvey Gets His Workload Back Just in Time

RJ Harvey’s box score line so far — three carries for 18 yards in Denver’s Week 3 loss to Kansas City — undersells what’s actually happening in that backfield. Harvey has been stuck in a full timeshare with J.K. Dobbins to open the year, and the early workload simply hasn’t caught up to his talent yet. The good news: both backs practiced in full this week, meaning Denver should finally roll out a completely healthy two-man attack instead of leaning on one guy out of necessity.

The matchup is a mixed bag but ultimately playable. The Rams have been stingy near the goal line against running backs, but they’ve been considerably more permissive in the open field, allowing a middle-of-the-pack 113 rushing yards per game on the season. With Puka Nacua listed as doubtful, the Rams’ passing game is going to lean on whoever Matthew Stafford trusts underneath, and increasingly that’s been second-year tight end Terrance Ferguson. The 6-foot-5 pass-catcher has turned into a legitimate possession and red-zone option for Los Angeles, posting six catches on nine targets for 54 yards and a touchdown so far this season — including a strong showing in the Rams’ blowout win over the Giants.

Losing Nacua only opens the door wider. Stafford is going to need reliable outlets over the middle against a Denver defense that’s had its moments defending tight ends, and Ferguson’s size and target share make him one of the more popular mixed-prop plays on this week’s board for good reason. Clearing 49.5 receiving yards is well within reach if he sees anything close to last week’s usage.
