Sunday’s Week 4 slate is loaded, and buried in the matchups are three player props that stand out above everything else on the board. Forget picking a lane — we’re grabbing the best bets regardless of position, and all three come from teams with real motivation and real mismatches working in their favor.
From a banged-up Carolina secondary to a shootout brewing in Cincinnati to a Dallas passing attack humming against one of the league’s softer pass defenses, these three have the sharpest combination of opportunity and recent production on the entire Sunday card.
Amon-Ra St. Brown Feasts on a Gutted Panthers Secondary
The Lions’ Sunday Night Football trip to Carolina (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC) looks like a mismatch the moment you check the Panthers’ injury report. Carolina placed both starting cornerbacks, Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson, on injured reserve this week after they went down in the same game against Cleveland — Horn with a torn quad, Jackson with a groin injury that required surgery. Both are expected to miss roughly eight weeks, leaving Carolina’s coverage duties to rookie Will Lee, Chau Smith-Wade, and special-teamer-turned-corner Akayleb Evans.
St. Brown has been Detroit’s unquestioned focal point through three games, hauling in 23 catches for 228 yards and five touchdowns on 35 targets — a 32.4% share of the Lions’ targets, third-most among all receivers leaguewide. He just put up a 9-catch, 142-yard, 2-touchdown line against Buffalo and followed it with another touchdown against the Jets. Even with his per-catch average on the lower side this year, the volume is absurd, and PFF’s own matchup model has him projected for 74.1 receiving yards against this specific Carolina defense — that’s before accounting for the fact the projection was likely built before the IR corners were official. Against a secondary breaking in multiple new starters on a short week of practice reps, 75.5 yards is very beatable.
Ja’Marr Chase Keeps the Touchdown Streak Rolling
Cincinnati hosts Jacksonville in a 1 p.m. ET game that the number suggests could get out of hand in the best way for prop bettors — the total sits at 51.5 points, with the Bengals favored by 2.5. That kind of environment tends to produce goal-line targets, and nobody on this roster sees more of those than Chase.
He’s found the end zone in back-to-back weeks, including a two-touchdown outing against Houston, and he’s commanding a 30.8% target share that remains the engine of Cincinnati’s offense regardless of who’s throwing him the ball. BetMGM has his anytime touchdown price right around -105, which implies just a shade over 51% — and in a game projected to be one of the highest-scoring of the week, that number undersells a receiver who has been in the end zone in three of Cincinnati’s first three games. When the Bengals need points in a shootout, Chase is historically the first read near the goal line, and the matchup script sets up for exactly that kind of afternoon.
Dak Prescott Picks Apart a Leaky Texans Pass Defense
Dallas travels to Houston for a 1 p.m. ET game, and Prescott arrives playing the best football of any quarterback in this spot. Through three games he’s thrown for 730 yards and 7 touchdowns against just a single interception, completing better than 69% of his passes and posting a 107.2 passer rating. He’s averaging 243.3 yards per game and has topped 270 yards once already this season.
The matchup only sweetens the pot. Houston’s defense, expected to be one of the league’s best coming into the year, has instead allowed 238.7 passing yards per game — among the worse marks in the NFL through three weeks — while surrendering a 66.7% completion rate to opposing quarterbacks. Prescott doesn’t need a career day to clear 272.5; he needs a game roughly in line with his season average, against a defense that’s been giving up exactly that kind of production all year. With Dallas needing to throw to keep pace in what should be a competitive division-style battle, the yardage volume should be there even if Houston tightens up on the scoreboard.
Lock These In for Sunday
Three different positions, three different games, one shared theme: each of these props lines up with a real, verifiable edge rather than a hunch. Check your preferred sportsbook promo before kickoff since lines can shift as the week closes out.
- Amon-Ra St. Brown OVER 75.5 receiving yards @ Carolina
- Ja’Marr Chase anytime touchdown scorer (approx. -105 to -110) vs. Jacksonville
- Dak Prescott OVER 272.5 passing yards @ Houston
Between a decimated Carolina secondary, a Cincinnati shootout brewing under the lights of Paycor Stadium, and a Dallas passing game humming on all cylinders, this is as clean a three-leg board as you’ll find all week.
