The 2024 NFL Draft is only a day away and we can't wait to follow all of the breaking news. Savy NFL fans and bettors know that to make a deep playoff run, teams must have at least one true playmaker at wideout.
To get ready for the draft, let's dive into the 4 best wide receivers. Most experts agree that Marvin Harrison Jr. will be the first WR taken on Thursday night in Round 1, but where will some of the other top speedsters fall. Let's get into it!
Speaking of Harrison Jr., he's almost a sure thing to go to the Arizona Cardinals with the 4th overall pick. Most sportsbooks have the odds at -190 that Harrison will wind up with the Cards, which implies a likelihood of 65.5%. It's easy to see why Arizona loves this kid, as he's got the ideal blend of size (6'3", 209 lbs) and speed (4.39 40).
Even though Harrison had an injury scare to start 2023, he didn't miss a beat. The 21-year-old racked up 1,211 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns to lead a very productive Ohio State offense. For his entire collegiate career, Harrison averaged 16.9 yards per catch, which is simply outstanding.
Nabers height (6-foot) hurts him a little bit, but his 4.35 40-yard dash time more than makes up for it. The 20-year-old was quiet during his first two seasons in Baton Rouge, but he dominated all defensive backs in 2023. Nabers ended up with 89 receptions, 1,569 yards, and 14 touchdowns last season.
Where will Nabers end up? It's hard to say. He's the odds-on favorite to be taken at No. 6 by the New York Giants. Daniel Jones needs a legitimate playmaker to throw to and Nabers would more than fit that bill. However, Nabers could possibly fall to the New York Jets at pick number 10.
Here's another guy that should be almost an automatic Top 10 overall selection. Odunze was QB Michael Penix Jr.'s favorite target last season and it's easy to see why. The 21-year-old is 6'3", 212 pounds, and he has an insanely high vertical jump.
Just how high will Odunze go in the 2024 NFL Draft. It's a bit of a mystery, but DraftKings has his draft position listed at 8.5 with the Under juiced at -150. That means that there's a fairly good chance that Odunze goes to either the Chargers at No. 5 or the Giants at No. 6.
To say Mitchell has all of the tools to be a great NFL wideout would be a gross understatement. He's 6'2", 205 pounds, and runs an incredibly fast 4.34 40-yard sprint. The 21-year-old also arguably possesses the best set of hands in the entire draft.
Mitchell is also an elite route runner, as he mastered posts, digs, and go routes during his time in Austin under offensive guru Steve Sarkisian. His blocking could improve, but that's being a bit nit-picky. Mitchell should go off the board later in the first round. It wouldn't surprise me if the Bills took him with the 28th pick to replace the loss of Stefon Diggs.
