Salt River Community Gaming Enterprises Names Patricia Tate President and CEO

Salt River Community Gaming Enterprises has named Patricia Tate as its new president and CEO, effective August 1. Tate becomes the first woman and the first enrolled tribal member to lead the organization, which operates Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort on behalf of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.

The appointment caps more than two decades of executive service for Tate, who joined the Gaming Enterprises in 2004 as controller before rising to chief financial officer in 2006 and holding the combined role of executive vice president and CFO from 2011 through 2026.

A Two-Decade Path to the Top

Tate’s tenure coincided with some of the biggest growth milestones in Salt River gaming history, including the expansion of Casino Arizona and the development of Talking Stick Resort. Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community President Martin Harvier credited that track record in announcing the promotion.

“Today’s announcement marks an important milestone for our gaming enterprise and our Community,” Harvier said. “After 22 years of dedicated service, Ms. Tate brings a deep understanding of our organization, strong financial leadership, and a long-term commitment to its success. The Community’s selection reflects confidence in her experience and vision.”

As CEO, Tate will now oversee all operations across both Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort, with the organization pointing to sustainable growth, operational excellence, employee development, and continued investment in the Community’s economic well-being as her core priorities. Talking Stick Resort has grown into one of the premier destinations for anyone looking to bet on sports in Arizona, alongside its casino floor and entertainment offerings.

A Milestone Moment for Salt River Gaming

Tate’s rise to the top job also carries symbolic weight for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, marking the first time a woman — and the first time an enrolled tribal member — has held the CEO title at the Gaming Enterprises.

Tate’s career has already earned significant recognition outside the organization. She was named a 2026 Phoenix Business Journal Outstanding Women in Business honoree, was the 2015 Female Executive of the Year, and was recognized as one of Arizona’s 50 Most Influential and 50 Most Dynamic Women in Business in 2013. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Humane Society and previously held board roles with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale and Florence Crittenton.
