NYRA Bets, the official online and mobile wagering platform of Saratoga Race Course and the New York Racing Association, has officially launched in New Jersey. Starting this week, New Jersey residents can download the NYRA Bets app and place wagers on horse races run at tracks across the country, adding another option to the state’s growing lineup of legal horse racing betting platforms.
Two Years in the Making
“We are excited for the opportunity to introduce NYRA Bets to horseplayers in the Garden State,” said Tony Allevato, NYRA’s Chief Revenue Officer and President of NYRA Bets. “Thanks to our regulatory partners and stakeholders in New Jersey, who have worked diligently on this effort for the last two years, NYRA Bets has arrived to expand consumer choice and help grow the sport.”
The launch is part of a broader agreement between Darby Development, LLC and the New Jersey Sports and Exhibition Authority, under which NYRA Bets now serves as the managing vendor of New Jersey’s online and mobile pari-mutuel account wagering system for horse racing. Going forward, any account wagering platform looking to enter the New Jersey market will need approval from NYRA Bets, Darby Development, and the New Jersey Racing Commission.
What NYRA Bets Offers
The platform gives horseplayers a customizable race menu alongside a full suite of handicapping tools, including in-depth analysis, horse-specific replays and stats, and multiple live video feeds covering NYRA races. Bettors also get access to ongoing seasonal promotions, instant signup, free funding options, and no wagering transaction fees. New Jersey customers can wager three ways: through the NYRA Bets app, online at NYRABets.com, or in person at NYRA venues.
For a limited time, new NJ signups are eligible for up to $200 in member bonuses. Additional details on the promotion are available directly through NYRA Bets’ New Jersey signup page.
Why It Matters for the Garden State
New Jersey already has an established horse racing betting market anchored by platforms like TVG, TwinSpires, and Xpressbet, but NYRA Bets brings direct access to Saratoga’s signature summer meet along with races from tracks nationwide through a single, NYRA-operated interface. With NYRA Bets now also serving as the state’s approval gatekeeper for account wagering platforms, its arrival could reshape how future horse racing apps enter the New Jersey market going forward.
