Betsson Africa has officially gone live in Cameroon on a full turnkey platform built by iGaming technology supplier EveryMatrix, marking one of the more significant regulated betting and casino launches on the continent this year. The rollout followed a competitive tender process in which EveryMatrix was selected to deliver casino, sportsbook, player account management, payments and affiliate management technology under a single unified system.
The partnership represents more than a simple software licensing deal. Betsson ran a detailed request-for-proposal process that evaluated multiple platform providers against more than 600 requirements spanning sportsbook functionality, casino content, payments, front-end design, SEO, back-office tools, launch support and operational resilience. EveryMatrix ultimately won the business on the strength of its track record in regulated markets and its ability to support a controlled, phased rollout.
A Mobile-First Build for a Mobile-First Market
Cameroon’s betting audience is overwhelmingly mobile, and EveryMatrix designed the Betsson.cm product around that reality. The build included a bespoke front end developed from scratch by Goma Gaming, the front-end specialist EveryMatrix acquired in 2025, with particular attention paid to performance in lower-bandwidth environments. The goal was to let customers move from registration through deposit, bet placement, casino play and withdrawal with minimal friction, even where connectivity can be inconsistent.
The rollout happened in stages rather than all at once. Betsson.cm soft-launched in February 2026 on mobile web, giving both companies time to fine-tune the product, test player journeys and evaluate early operational performance before native Android and iOS apps followed as part of the wider release. The full public launch came in April 2026, timed alongside a marketing push ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Why Cameroon, and What Comes Next
Rony Richa, Commercial Director at Betsson Group, described the move as a deliberate and measured step rather than an aggressive land grab, saying the launch “reflects a pragmatic approach by Betsson as we explore selected regulated markets,” and that EveryMatrix was chosen for its proven technology, regulatory experience, and ability to support a structured, controlled rollout.
EveryMatrix framed the deal in similar terms, emphasizing compliance and long-term stability over rapid scale. The technology stack gives Betsson’s team the ability to manage content, layouts, featured events and promotional campaigns directly through a CMS without needing additional development work, which should let the operator adjust its Cameroon product quickly as player behavior data comes in.
By June 2026, early performance indicators pointed in a positive direction, with EveryMatrix citing encouraging trends in customer acquisition, retention and revenue since launch. Whether that momentum holds through a full World Cup cycle, historically one of the biggest betting events globally, will be the real test of the platform’s durability.
Part of a Broader African Expansion Play
The Cameroon launch also sets up a template Betsson could reuse elsewhere. Rather than building a one-off product, the companies designed the platform to be adaptable for future markets that share similar language, currency, payment and customer-behavior characteristics. That positions Cameroon as a proof point rather than an isolated bet, with EveryMatrix positioning itself as a long-term infrastructure partner for operators looking to expand across Africa’s fast-growing, largely mobile betting and casino markets.
For bettors following the international sportsbook and casino space, the deal is another sign that established European operators are treating African markets as a genuine growth frontier rather than an afterthought, with the kind of full-stack, compliance-first technology builds more commonly associated with established regulated markets in North America and Europe. As more operators watch how Betsson’s Cameroon numbers hold up, similar turnkey partnerships in other African markets look increasingly likely.
