BetMGM, Awager Strike New Jersey Deal to Stream Real Slot Machines to Online Players

BetMGM has partnered with live slot streaming provider Awager to bring real land-based slot machines into its New Jersey online casino, giving players at BetMGM and Borgata Online a new way to watch and play physical slot cabinets remotely. The deal connects players to 50 gaming cabinets spanning more than 30 titles, including entries from Aristocrat’s popular Buffalo Ascension and Lightning Link franchises.

Awager’s technology streams real-time video, audio, and spin mechanics from actual slot machines on a casino floor directly to a player’s device, effectively bridging the gap between land-based and online casino experiences. Rather than simulating a slot game with random number generation alone, the platform lets online players watch and interact with genuine physical machines as they spin, giving digital wagering a tangible, broadcast-style feel that mirrors what someone would see standing in front of a cabinet in Atlantic City.

A Bigger Bet on Blurring Land-Based and Online Play

The New Jersey rollout follows Aristocrat’s move to acquire Awager, a deal first announced in October 2025 and finalized in the months since. Awager, headquartered in Israel with roughly 75 employees spread across Israel, Eastern Europe, and the United States, had already built a reputation as the clear market leader in the fast-emerging live slot streaming segment before the Aristocrat acquisition, with exclusive distribution ties to several major iGaming platforms.

Rob Passerino, director of gaming at BetMGM, framed the partnership as an early step rather than a finished product. “The addition of Awager’s live slots offering creates an exciting new way for our players to engage with slot machines digitally,” Passerino said. “This is just the beginning of our partnership, and we look forward to continuing to work together to explore new opportunities that further enhance the BetMGM online casino experience.”

Superna Kalle, chief strategy officer at Aristocrat, echoed that sentiment, pointing to the deal as central to the company’s broader push to make online casino gaming feel more authentic. “Bringing land-based play online is at the heart of our mission to deliver a truly authentic casino experience straight to players’ devices,” Kalle said. “We’re incredibly proud to partner with BetMGM on this launch and continue expanding access to real slot machine play.”

Part of a Wider Aristocrat and BetMGM Push

The New Jersey agreement is not BetMGM’s first venture into slot streaming through Awager’s technology. The operator previously struck a similar partnership with Aristocrat Interactive in Alberta, Canada, centered on the Lightning Link franchise, signaling that BetMGM sees the format as a growth area across multiple regulated jurisdictions rather than a one-off test.

For Aristocrat, the New Jersey deal is another proof point for its live slot streaming strategy since closing the Awager acquisition. The gaming giant has continued expanding Awager’s reach beyond North America as well, striking a separate partnership with Novomatic to bring live-streamed land-based content to European markets using the same modular studio technology and multi-camera setup that captures the feel of a real casino floor.
