We are coming off an interesting night of NBA action! The first game of the evening between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics was a barnburner, with the Knicks stealing their second-straight game after a collapse of epic proportions by the Celtics. The second game of the night was far from exciting for fans, as the Oklahoma City Thunder took the momentum from the get-go, and they didn’t give it back to the Denver Nuggets.
We’re hoping for an exciting matchup tonight between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves, and it will be fascinating to see how things shake out with Steph Curry sidelined. The Timberwolves dominated in the paint in Game 1 but couldn’t find a way to win based on their poor shooting. Will that trend continue in Game 2? We’ll soon find out.
For now, we’ve put our top Underdog players props together from the action, hoping to sweep the board after going 1-2 last night. Let’s get into it!
Tonight is the night for a legacy game from Anthony Edwards. He managed to score 23 points in Game 1, even though he shot 20% from beyond the arc and 40% from the field, a trend that we don’t think will continue tonight.
He’s too good a player to be held down for more than one game, and with Curry out, Edwards could have a field day. Don’t overthink the over on his point total in this one.
Draymond Green had an uncharacteristically strong scoring outing in Game 1, ending the contest with 18 points. However, this was propped up by him making four three-pointers, something that he doesn’t typically do.
Game 1 was strange for a lot of reasons, and even though Curry is out, which limits the Warriors’ options for scorers, we don’t think Green is going to step up in this way, so we’re taking the under on his point total.
As a whole, the Timberwolves couldn’t figure out how to hit the broad side of a barn door from beyond the arc on Tuesday night, but Naz Reid seemed to have it all together. The big man made four three-pointers by the end of the game, putting the team on his back in this particular category.
We’re expecting more of the same from him in Game 2, which is why we’re taking the over on his three-point total and might even bump this line up to 2.5 or 3.5 to get some more juice on the action.
