With just three dates remaining on the NBA regular season calendar, the action is heating up as teams continue to vie for playoff seeding. Only five games are slated for Thursday, April 11, but four games could alter a team’s position for the NBA playoffs starting next week.
This week, I’ve hit on five of the seven bets, continuing a three-week tear of 70% predictions for NBA player prop bets. For Thursday, we’ll cover the four best NBA player props bets and finish up the regular season riding the hot streak!
Detroit long ago was eliminated from playoff contention. Chicago, however, is one game above the Atlanta Hawks in the play-in game chase. Winning tonight would ensure the Bulls host the play-in game as the team has the series edge over Atlanta. One reason Chicago has a chance is point guard Coby White, a deep-threat sniper averaging 19.0 points and 5.2 assists per game.
White has been erratic in April from behind the three-point line, showing just 21% from that range in four games. While the competition easies up tonight against Detroit, the Pistons have kept White from hitting a three-point shot in two of their three matchups this season.
Expect White to be held under his season average of 2.7 three-point field goals again.
Boston has wrapped up the top seed in the Eastern Conference, and the Celtics can afford to rest their stars. New York is under no such luxury as the Knicks need to win out and a little luck to secure the No. 2 position for the playoffs. To do that, New York will need a big game from shooting guard Josh Hart.
With Julius Randle officially scrapped for the remainder of this season, the Knicks have been looking to the 6’ 4” Hart to pick up the rebounding slack. In February and March – after Randle’s exit – Hart averaged 10.3 and 11.9 rebounds per month, respectively.
With the chance to host a second-round playoff series on the line, expect Hart to cover this player prop bet.
Sacramento is currently in the play-in game as the eighth seed in the Western Conference, two games behind both the Phoenix Suns and the New Orleans Pelicans. All three teams want the coveted sixth spot, the final playoff seed to ensure its team will earn a first-round playoff series opportunity.
For tonight’s player prop bet, Zioni Williamson has eclipsed the 38.5 combo mark (points + rebounds + assists) in just one game over the past two weeks. Further, the forward is averaging well below that mark in three games against the Kings this season.
While Williamson will have a good game, do not expect him to cover this player combo prop bet tonight against Sacramento.
Although Portland has been eliminated from playoff contention, Golden State still has plenty to play for. The Warriors are currently the 10th and final team in the Western Conference, but the perennial power can improve that position and at least host a play-in game by winning out their regular season games.
To do that, Golden State needs Klay Thompson to be on his game. The shooting guard is averaging 23.6 points per contest in April and has eclipsed the 20-point mark three of the team’s past five games.
Expect Thompson to continue his torrid tear, especially after he has poured in 28 points twice against Trailblazers this season.
