We have finally made it to the NBA’s conference finals! There are now only four teams that can take home the NBA Finals trophy, two of which (the Minnesota Timberwolves and Indiana Pacers) have never won before.
This could be a historic Finals for many reasons, but before they get there, teams have one more obstacle in their way. Tonight, Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals will go down, with the Timberwolves traveling to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder.
Fans are looking forward to this matchup for many reasons, including the fact that two of the league’s best superstars will be facing off, which could be a battle of epic proportions. We’re not going to get cute with our first two picks of the night. As we mentioned above, we’re looking forward to a great battle between two of the game’s biggest stars, and Anthony Edwards and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should deliver that in this one.
Gilgeous-Alexander was better than Edwards in their four regular-season matchups, scoring 33+ points in all but one game. We expect that high scoring to continue, since he has a high motor that tends to stay moving all game.

Anthony Edwards OVER 25.5 Points
Edwards wasn’t as good in their regular-season meetups, only having 27+ points on two occasions, but we project a monster game out of him in this one. He has a strong mentality in games like this, a killer gene that should help him get to the next level.
We expect Edwards to trade buckets with SGA up and down the court, similarly to what Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brunson did in Game 5 of the Eastern semifinals. This should be an easy Over.

Julius Randle OVER 19.5 Points
We don’t usually take all overs in these articles, and it’s not generally advisable to take the point total overs of two players on the same team. However, Julius Randle was on a different level against the Golden State Warriors, averaging over 25 points per game throughout the series.
He was playing like he had something to prove, lighting it up in times when Edwards wasn’t at his best. We predict both players to provide a lot of the Timberwolves’ scoring tonight, which is why we’re taking the over on his point total as well.
