Happy Monday to all! We hope you had a great Easter weekend and could spend some time with family while tuning into some great sporting events. The NBA playoffs are in full swing, and after seeing every team have their first game, we have a better idea of how everyone is shaping up, making us excited for the next few weeks.
We’ll quickly identify who are contenders and who are pretenders, continuing with tonight’s two-game slate. We’ve focused our attention on the matchup between the Detroit Pistons and the New York Knicks, putting our top player props together from this one. Let’s get a peek at what Underdog has for us, hoping to sweep the board with our best picks!
You might think it’s crazy for us to take the over on Cade Cunningham’s point total, considering he only had 21 in Game 1, but we believe he’s in for a big bounce-back.
Cunningham averaged 26.1 PPG during the regular season, and the Knicks won’t be able to hold him off forever. Because he went 8-21 from the field on Saturday, an anomaly for him, we’re buying back into Cunningham tonight, believing he’ll have 30+ points to try and tie this series up.
Player | Prop | Price |
---|---|---|
Jalen Brunson | Over 29.5 Points | |
Jalen Brunson | Under 29.5 Points |
Jalen Brunson went off for 34 points in Game 1 of this series, and it’s certainly difficult to fade a player who’s coming off a performance like that.
However, Brunson’s excellence was mainly due to his teammates not stepping up as well as he might have appreciated, and we believe Karl Anthony-Towns, for instance, is due for a bigger game in the scoring column.
Brunson can’t be the hero every night, and with Cunningham playing better defense with each passing game, we aren’t sold on him putting up massive numbers in this one, which is why we’re taking the under in this spot.
Player | Prop | Price |
---|---|---|
Josh Hart | Over 8.5 Rebounds | |
Josh Hart | Under 9.5 Rebounds |
Josh Hart had a mediocre Game 1 against the Pistons in the rebounding category, specifically, putting up just seven. This was strange for a player who averaged nearly 10 boards per game during the regular season, but we don’t expect his struggles in this area to persist tonight.
Hart is too tenacious of a player to have two down games in a row, so look for him to get aggressive on the glass and have at least 10 rebounds by the end of the game.
