We have finally made it to the NBA’s conference finals! There are now only four teams that can take home the NBA Finals trophy, two of which (the Minnesota Timberwolves and Indiana Pacers) have never won before. This could be a historic Finals for many reasons, but before they get there, teams have one more obstacle in their way.
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals is slated for Wednesday evening, with the Pacers traveling to New York to take on the Knicks. This wasn’t necessarily the matchup that people expected heading into the season, but it should still make for some excitement and drama.
With that in mind, let’s get into our top player picks from this one, all of which are powered by Underdog!
Player | Prop | Price |
---|---|---|
Tyrese Haliburton | Over 13.5 Points | |
Tyrese Haliburton | Under 13.5 Points |
You might think it’s crazy to take the under on Haliburton’s points, considering he’s coming off a 31-point outing against the Cleveland Cavaliers but hear us out. Haliburton hasn’t historically been solid against the Knicks, putting up just 17.6 points per game in 11 meetings.
The Knicks have played well at home all season, and the hometown crowd in New York might make it extra difficult for Haliburton to be as effective as he’d like to be. We’re fading his point total until he proves to us that we can trust him in a big game again.
Josh Hart does a lot of things well for the Knicks. He’s a ferocious rebounder, one of the best rebounding guards in the league, and he can certainly get his when it comes to assists and points as well.
However, being a multi-tooled player sometimes means that his stats are dispersed rather than concentrated in one area, which is why we’re also taking the under on his point total. The Knicks have several players who can catch fire from anywhere on the floor, but we don’t expect Hart to be one of them, at least in this game.
If there were any questions about the Knicks’ decision to trade for Karl-Anthony Towns, they’ve certainly been answered over the past few weeks. KAT has been instrumental in the Knicks getting to the Eastern Conference Finals, the second-biggest contributor on the roster not named Jalen Brunson.
This team has become very fun to watch, and KAT should have another good series given his matchup. We believe he’s going to kick Game 1 off with a bang, so don’t be surprised if he has close to 15 rebounds at the end of it, making his presence known in the paint.
