November NBA action rolls along tonight with two of the top teams in the East facing up against each other. The Bulls will have to deal with the emergence of Quentin Grimes as a playmaking-scoring threat away from home tonight.
Elsewhere, LaMelo Ball has a great matchup tonight against the 0-6 Pelicans, who are allowing 126 points per contest.
Quentin Grimes (PHI) OVER 22.5 PRA
QG has been one of the handful of bright spots for this Philadelphia team to open the season. Grimes is playing for a big contract, and he’s looking like he deserves one, averaging 18.2 PPG and 5.2 APG on the year – the latter a career high.
He’s come off the bench in all six games while delivering this prop bet in three of these games. With Chicago on tap for tonight, I’m looking at Grimes to stay aggressive as a driver and playmaker after his 13-assist, 22-point night against Brooklyn on Sunday.
With the Bulls playing at a fast pace and sitting top 10 in scoring, rebounding, and assists – expect a potential shootout in Philly between the top two teams in the Eastern Conference.
LaMelo Ball (CHA) OVER 24.5 Points
Ball has not scored in bunches to start the season, only compiling one 30+ point game thus far. With Charlotte taking on a bottom-of-the-league Pelicans team tonight, I’m looking for LaMelo to have a signature breakout game from all three levels on the offensive end.
Last year Ball went for 25 points in just 30 minutes of play against New Orleans and as for this year, after a handful of rough games from beyond the arc it is about time Ball gets back on track and knocks a handful of triples in.
This offense is much better than last season and with the connector in Kon Knueppel, LaMelo will have more space to operate.
Ryan Dunn (PHX) UNDER 9.5 Points
While I am a huge Ryan Dunn fan on the defensive end, his offense and shooting are still streaky as he approaches his 82nd career NBA game. RD dropped 17 points in just 27 minutes in the big win against the formerly undefeated Spurs on Sunday but looking back on this season has only scored 10+ points twice.
He is mostly used as a connector on offense and a switch man with extreme length on the defensive end. Playing against a Warriors team that will force Dunn into some tough situations defensively, I’m not confident about the second-year player’s offensive opportunities in this one.
Dunn played four games against Golden State last year, averaging over 3 fouls in each while scoring 8.3 PPG over the course of their matchups.
