The 3-5 Suns are coming off an away loss to Golden State and will look to bounce back tonight against the 3-4 Clippers, who have dropped two straight. This game should rack up points as both of these teams are in the bottom tier defensively.
I’m taking Phoenix to grab a hold of the lead early and hang onto it behind Devin Booker and the season debut from Jalen Green at home. Bringing Green in will be massive for Phoenix, not only because of his prolific change-of-pace offensive skillset, but also the added depth that will allow Jordan Ott to play with a handful of different offense/defense rotations. Give me Phoenix to come out on top in this Western Conference matchup.
Devin Booker (PHX) OVER 27.5 Points
Booker has scored 28 or more points in his last six games, only scoring under this mark once thus far during the early season. As the number one option on offense, he is incredible at scoring from all three levels with ease, shooting a ridiculous 52/43/86 across the floor.
Dating back to last season, Booker has a 26- and 40-point games against the Clippers, and that was with a very different roster that forced Book to play the wingman to Durant at times. With DB as the number one option again, give me his over in a primetime matchup.
Bradley Beal (LAC) UNDER 3.5 Assists
It’s a bitter reunion for Brad Beal and the Suns, who don’t have a ton of love for each other after the short stint in the desert for the veteran guard. While he will play on a chip on his shoulder with the ball in his hands, Beal has yet to play more than 21 minutes in his four games this season and hasn’t reached the 3-assist mark yet in any of those games.
With Chris Paul also making his return to the valley and James Harden also active, it is difficult to see a world where Beal will contribute as a primary playmaker in this one.
