NBA Thursday: 2 Best Bets and Top Player Prop for October 30

In NBA Halloween eve action, we look to the East, where Orlando is attempting to pick up their first win since last Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets. Expect them to bounce back here against a team they dominated last season.

The San Antonio Spurs are looking to start the season 5-0 for the first time in franchise history. If they want to complete this feat against Miami, rookie guard Dylan Harper will be a key reason. Let’s get into our top picks for

Best Bet: Magic -2.5 over Hornets

Surprisingly, the team everyone thought would take a leap in the East has started the year 1-4 with four straight losses to Eastern Conference foes. Continuing on their five-game road trip tonight against Charlotte, I’m looking for Orlando to flip the script and win their first game since last Wednesday.

Oddly enough, it has been Orlando’s defense that has let them down, allowing 43 points to Maxey, 26 points to Edgecombe, and a 30 bomb to Cunningham during their last two games. Desmond Bane still hasn’t found his rhythm as well. With that being said, this team is too deep and talented to continue this losing streak, especially against a Charlotte squad that will deal with highs and lows this season as well.

Orlando somewhat easily went 4-0 against the Hornets last season, and with their guys healthy heading into this one, should end the skid.

Best Bet: Warriors -2 over Bucks

I like the Warriors to continue to roll on during their early-season schedule. After allowing just 79 points to the Clippers, their confidence on both ends is through the roof, especially with the sudden emergence of Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody into truly reliable scoring pieces.

With Golden State shooting above 40% from deep and allowing opponents to shoot just 32% from range, the Bucks should struggle to get things going beyond Giannis. Golden State’s bench is far superior to Milwaukee’s, and that will be the difference when Giannis is off the court, as seen late last season.

Dylan Harper (SAS) OVER 23.5 PRA

One of my favorite rookies of the last handful of draft classes, Dylan Harper, simply plays winning basketball. He is coming off the bench for Mitch Johnson’s 4-0 San Antonio Spurs but has made his impact known. The 2nd overall pick is +49 this season while playing just 26 MPG.

As for this prop play, Dylan has gone for 23/34/21/21 PRA since their opener. Against a Miami team that will throw the kitchen sink at Wembanyama, expect Harper to play a key role in this one as a playmaking scorer.
