Karl-Anthony Is a Nice Upgrade Over Randle
The Towns for Randle + Divincenzo trade caught a lot of people off guard, right before the season was set to begin. What does this mean? It means the Knicks are all in this season, and pushing to get to the Eastern Conference Finals, and more.
Towns gives them better defense at that position and a much better shooter. They may be comparable as far as total points, but Towns is a much more efficient shooter. In his career he shoots 52% from the field, 40% from 3, and 84% from the line, all much better than Randle, and this Knicks team needed better efficiency.
On the defensive end, Towns also gives the Knicks a much more explosive piece. Towns averaged 1.3 blocks to Randles 0.4, while Towns also outrebounded Randle 10.8 to 9.4, and that was while sharing the floor with Rudy Gobert! Towns could find a career number in rebounds this season with less competition down low.

Towns Debut Doesn’t Disappoint
One thing I liked about this Knicks team last season is you could tell they cared about each other and lifted each other up. I can see something similar happening tonight, where the Knicks try to get Towns and Bridges (their new teammates) going early. Towns is a massive piece for this squad, and I have no doubt Brunson and co., are going to incorporate him a lot.
Looking at the board the last few days, I noticed Towns's odds were set to around -250 for a double double. I then found I could pair his 20+ points and 10+ rebounds together for some decent plus-money value, which is what I did.
I have no doubt Towns has a great chance to find 10 boards tonight, 20+ points is the question here. We have now seen his points line rise from 19.5 to 20.5 to 21.5. In 3 preseason games, with an average of 29 minutes, Towns had 10+ rebounds in each game while hitting 20+ twice. For plus money I think we have a good shot here!
