Hello, and Happy Monday to all the sports fans out there! It’s Monday, and we are feeling blessed for many reasons, with the biggest being the fact that it’s March, the best month of the year for basketball fans! We are gearing up for March Madness and studying the bracketology with the best of them, but we are still engrossed in the NBA season as well.
A lot is going on, including tonight’s seven-game NBA slate, which we’re going to dive into now. We’ve put our favorite Underdog player props together, and after a sweep on Friday, we’re aiming to do so again tonight. Let’s get to it!
Anfernee Simons comes to play in big games, and we’re excited to see what he can do against the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. His Portland Trail Blazers have won four of their last five games, with their only loss of the five coming narrowly against the Cleveland Cavaliers last night.
This team isn’t going away quietly, and we expect them to give the 76ers a run for their money. With that in mind, we love Simons’ chances of hitting the over in this spot, logging at least 21 points.
He scored 27 against the Cavaliers last night, 26 against the Denver Nuggets a few weeks ago, and 21 and 30 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings before that. Simons is a big-game player, and we expect him to deliver a monster performance tonight.
We can’t bet against Trae Young’s assist total tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies, a tough pill to swallow against any opponent. Young has been so good in this area all season, leading the league with 11.4 per game.
He averaged slightly more than his season average during February, only having single digit assists in five games. Considering that this game against the Grizzlies shouldn’t be a blowout, Young shouldn’t have any trouble going over his projected 10.5 total, hopefully hitting this number by the end of the third quarter.
The Hawks rely on his passing abilities every night, and that won’t change against a high-flying team like the Grizzlies.
This splash brother might be without Steph Curry, but it’s not stopping him from draining three-pointers like it’s going out of style. Thompson has made 3+ three shots from beyond the arc in his past seven games, a trend that we expect to continue against the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.
The Dallas Mavericks face a tough matchup, but we’re confident in Thompson’s ability to fire at will from beyond the arc, hitting four or more threes to keep the Mavericks in it.
