Hello everyone, and happy Monday! We certainly hope you had a great weekend, one that provided a lot of entertainment for sports fans. Some NBA fans are less thrilled than others, as Victor Wembanyama, one of the league’s brightest stars, is out for the foreseeable future with an unfortunate bout of DVT.
The show must go on, however, and the NBA has blessed us with a magnificent eight-game slate tonight to start the week with a bang. With several marquee matchups to choose from, we went to Underdog to find our favorite player props from the action, which we are going to dive into below. Let’s get into it!
Nikola Jokic has been one of the best players in the NBA for a few years now, but for whatever reason, he’s struggled to put up big numbers against the Indiana Pacers, especially in the assists category.
Jokic hasn’t achieved 11 assists in 15 career games against them and considering he’s on a bit of a drought in this statistical category; we’re fading him against the Pacers. Plus, Jokic might not have a lot of opportunities for assists in this game if the Denver Nuggets start hot, so we’re liking his chances of going under this assist total.
Player | Prop | Price |
---|---|---|
Trae Young | Over 10.5 Assists | |
Trae Young | Under 10.5 Assists |
Nikola Jokic might struggle to get assists against his matchup tonight, but the same cannot be said for Trae Young, who has loved facing off against the Miami Heat, historically. He’s had 15 assists against them earlier in the year and has had 11+ in his last three games against this team.
Young is one of the best distributors of the rock in the entire league, and he tends to have his way with opposing teams. We’re going to take the over on his assist line with confidence, believing that he’s in for another massive performance.
The Hawks need to win this one, and Young is who they often go to in desperate times.
Taking the over on double-doubles from centers against the Minnesota Timberwolves has been one of our favorite bets all season. They aren’t able to defend centers as well as they used to without Karl-Anthony Towns, and opposing teams continue to take advantage of them in the post.
Isaiah Hartenstein nearly had a double-double against the Wolves last night, and we think he shouldn’t have a problem hitting that mark this evening. This should be a back-and-forth game, and with lots of shots being taken, especially from the three-point line, look for Hartenstein to lock this one up early, potentially by the end of the third quarter.
