NBA Friday Betting Preview: 3 Player Prop Predictions for January 2

A few young guards show up on our best bets for Friday night around the NBA. Starting in San Antonio, Dylan Harper will have to step up as a scorer off the bench with the Spurs dealing with some injuries.

Speaking of injuries, the scoring has to come from somewhere in Denver, which means Bruce Brown gets a bump in production starting tonight against the Cavs. Our top player props for January 2nd are ready to rock below.

Dylan Harper (SAS) OVER 13.5 Points

With Devin Vassell and Victor Wembanyama out for this matchup against Indiana, Dylan Harper has a big game coming up. He’s been slightly off the mark as of late, scoring just 7, 11, and 2 points over his L3 while San Antonio recently got back into the win column.

Against an Indiana team that is heavily injured and underdogs against the Spurs, I’m looking to extended Harper minutes and solid matchups against the backup Indiana guards. Similar to Champagnie’s breakout night with Vassell out, Harper should get 25+ minutes, which will lead to some open opportunities to get to the line and inside the paint.

Bruce Brown (DEN) OVER 8.5 Points

Who else will score for Denver? Now with Jokic, JV, Cameron Johnson, Aaron Gordon, and Christian Braun all out, it will be up to Peyton Watson, THJ, Jamal Murray, and Bruce Brown to get into the scoring column against a high-octane Cavs offense.

Denver has looked to Brown to lead the offense at points throughout the season, and as of late, he’s been a solid bet, scoring 10+ points in five games over his last eight outings.

Anthony Black (ORL) OVER 1.5 Threes

Chicago allows 122 PPG and 36% shooting from beyond the arc, both ranking in the bottom 10 in the association. Anthony Black has a great matchup tonight against this Bulls backcourt, and with Wagner out for Orlando, this is a perfect matchup.

AB is having a career year and recently has had the green light from deep, hitting 3 or more threes in three of his last five games, including a seven against Denver earlier in the week. Keep riding the hot hand in Orlando.
