Opening week rolls on in the NBA, where we have had overtimes, breakout performances, and scandals all in one week. Tonight, expect Devin Booker to stay hot as the Suns travel to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers, while the Utah Jazz somehow look like one of the best offensive teams in the NBA.
G Donte DiVincenzo (MIN) OVER 17.5 PRA
With Mike Conley moving to more of a reserved role this season, it’s a no-brainer that Donte DiVincenzo will see more playing time and opportunity. With NAW in Atlanta as well, this number feels extremely low against a below-average Lakers defense and a team Minnesota has had its way with recently. Donte struggled in the opener with 6 turnovers, but I’m trusting him to turn it around against Los Angeles and make an impact on both ends of the floor.
G Keyonte George (UTA) OVER 5.5 Assists
George dropped 9 dimes on the Clippers in a blowout opening night victory for the Jazz. Tonight, they travel to Sacramento to take on a Kings team with a sub-par defense, and with Utah’s shooting and offensive style really coming to fruition last game, I expect them to continue to shoot the ball well with George remaining the key facilitator with Collier out. George averaged 6.5 APG without Collier on the floor last season.
G Devin Booker (PHX) OVER 28.5 Points
With the Suns 1-0 taking on a semi-rival on the road, I expect Jordan Ott and his underdog squad to come out with vengeance against Chris Paul and Bradley Beal. Devin Booker is at the peak of his career and should exploit these aging Clippers guards on the offensive end in the same way Utah did last game. After this Clippers’ defense got decimated Wednesday night, I’m confident in Booker to pour in another 30-point game.
