Just when you think there is no escape, the Indiana Pacers leap to safety. Indiana is now against a wall, down 3-2 in the NBA Finals to an OKC team that looks unbeatable over the last five quarters.
With that being said, Indiana has one more trick up their sleeve. Let’s get into our two player props and best bet for Game 6. Good luck, folks!
The magic of Indiana lives on Thursday night. These Pacers haven’t lost three straight games since a mid-March away stretch. Since then, they hadn’t even lost two straight games until Games 4 and 5 against the Thunder.
While we expect Tyrese Haliburton to look a tick better in this game with an extra day of rest, I’m looking to Rick Carlisle to pull something out of the hat once again. Benn Mathurin and T.J. McConnell’s efficiencies are x-factors, but the two bigs in Siakam and Turner will come alive.
Both are due for big shooting nights, and if they get involved on both ends early, potentially getting either Chet or Williams into foul trouble, I could see Indiana fighting their way into a Game 7. Again, Indiana wins games they aren’t supposed to, and this is a prime example.
After Nesmith’s electrifying 30-point Game 1 in New York, he’s cooled off. He’s scored just under 11 PPG in this series while somehow shooting the absolute crap out of the basketball from deep.
Aaron’s gone 14/27 (51%) from beyond the arc in this series, including hitting 4 of 5 last game. This postseason, the wing is shooting above 50% from 3 and during the regular season hit 43% of them.
At home, where this Pacers southpaw offense will catch the Thunder off guard in the first quarter, look for Nesmith to make a direct impact from downtown and hit this prop for the second straight game.
With Indiana’s sharpshooters coming to play, Andrew Nembhard’s struggles from the field in this series will be forgiven after an incredible playmaking performance in Game 6.
Haliburton is hobbled, and Indiana is due to shoot their way into a Game 7 or out of this series. Should they get hot in the first half and down the stretch, Nembhard will directly contribute to this in both the scoring and playmaking categories.
He’s hit this prop in ten games this postseason, including four times against Cleveland, when Indiana couldn’t miss from downtown.
