Mavericks vs Lakers: 3 Player Prop Predictions for Thursday, February 12

Happy Thursday, everyone! If you’re anything like us, you’re feeling bummed that the 2025 NFL season is officially over, but counting down the days to next season.
While we don’t have any NFL action to report on, a few NBA games are going on tonight, the last three before the All-Star break commences.

All three matchups should be good, but we’re focusing on the last one of the night between the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers. With that in mind, let’s get into our favorite player props from this one, all of which can be found on Underdog!

LeBron James UNDER 31.5 Points & Assists

LeBron James might still be a beast at 41 years old, but for whatever reason, he’s struggled to put up numbers against the Mavericks. In fact, he’s had 32 or fewer combined points and assists in his past five games against them, and has had nine or fewer assists in six of those contests. He might have a good game, but we’re not projecting a great one, which is why we’re taking the under in this spot.

Marcus Smart OVER 1.5 Steals & Blocks

While LeBron’s numbers against Dallas lately haven’t hit the mark, Marcus Smart’s have been fantastic. He’s been lights out versus the Mavs from a defensive standpoint, having at least two combined steals and blocks in their last four meetings.

Smart might not be an offensive juggernaut, but the Lakers don’t need that from him with LeBron and Luka on the roster. If he can do his part on defense, that’s all they can ask.

Caleb Martin UNDER 2.5 Assists

We’re not projecting a strong assist performance out of Caleb Martin for a few reasons. One, he hasn’t had 4+ assists in four straight games, so he hasn’t been particularly good in that area lately.

Plus, he’s only hit this number in one career game against the Lakers, as this isn’t a team he has much success against. It’s the perfect storm again tonight, so we’re fading his total until further notice!
