Who could have predicted such a massive blowout in Game 1 of the NBA Finals? The Boston Celtics took control of the game early on, and the Dallas Mavericks just weren’t able to catch up, despite cutting the lead down to eight points at one point in the game.
Can the Mavericks fight back in Game 2? Or will the Celtics take a commanding two-game lead heading into Dallas? As we wait to see how the game will unfold, we have studied Underdog’s player props, and think we have a pretty good handle on what will go down.
But before we dive into the player props, let's take a brief look at both the side and the total for Game 2. Check those out below! Best of luck and enjoy the action!
Tuesday, October 22 at 7:30 PM | Spread | Money | Total |
New York Knicks | +5 (-115) | +170 | O 223.5 (-108) |
Boston Celtics | -5 (-113) | -185 | U 221.5 (-110) |
We don’t typically like to take first-quarter props, but this seems like an easy line for Derek White. He balled out in Game 1, especially finding his way from the three-point line early in the contest.
Look for White to keep his deep shooting up early in Game 2, easily hitting the over in this spot. White has done well at home all year long and we don't expect that to change in Game 2.
We can’t trust any of the Mavericks’ big men to have a big game on any given night. Some nights it’s Daniel Gafford, but more often than not, Dereck Lively or Derrick Jones Jr. are the ones that are having big performances.
Plus, Gafford doesn’t tend to get a lot of playing time in massive games, which is why we’re taking his under again tonight. Gafford has just been too unreliable for us to take him in Game 2. There is plenty of value to be had on the Under in this spot.
We faded Porzingis in Game 1, and that was clearly a mistake. He came back with a vengeance in his first game in several weeks, looking ready to tear it up for the rest of the series.
We’re all aboard the Porzingis train for Game 2 and beyond, which is why we’re taking the over on his point total. This one should hit easily!
