Happy Wednesday to all! Last night provided many excellent matchups across the NBA, including the epic battle between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks. We’re also looking forward to tonight’s action, as there are a few games that should be strong playoff previews or have lots of drama associated with them.
The game everyone is talking about, and for good reason, is between the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks. This is, of course, Luka Doncic’s return to Dallas, and people are interested to see what this return will yield, both for the Lakers and their chances of winning, and for the Dallas fanbase, who might be rather upset to see Doncic in the purple and gold.

Luka Doncic UNDER 31.5 Points
This line feels a bit too high for Doncic tonight, who will be under a lot of pressure against his former team. He only had 19 against the Mavericks in their first clash after his trade, and considering this is in Dallas, we think he’s going to struggle to meet expectations.
Doncic might have a big game in the assist and rebounding categories, but we’re fading his point total until he shows us that he’s able to put up big numbers in the Lone Star State.

Anthony Davis OVER 27.5 Points
We might be fading Doncic tonight, but we’re certainly not fading Anthony Davis, who we expect to eat against the Lakers. Davis might publicly say that he’s cool with being on the Mavericks, but it’s a certain downgrade by way of prestige and clout around the league.
Davis shouldn’t have any difficulties getting to 30+ points in this one, taking it to LeBron James and Doncic, making the Lakers regret ever trading him away. Plus, he’s been playing well since coming back from injury, so we expect his strong performances to continue.

Lebron James LOVES playing against the Mavericks. This is a team he’s dominated throughout his career, averaging 27 PPG. We expect a back-and-forth battle between him and Anthony Davis, a clash between former teammates that should yield plenty of entertainment and excitement.
Look for James to score closer to 30 points than 20 in this one, easily going over his projection.
