Heat vs Hornets: 3 Player Prop Predictions for Tuesday, April 14

Happy Tuesday! The NBA Play-In Games start tonight, with two marquee matchups going down. The first game of the night is between the Miami Heat and the Charlotte Hornets, but it’s not a win-and-in scenario. The winner of this game will face off against the loser of the 7-8 matchup, which is taking place tomorrow night between the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers.

There’s a lot of hype surrounding tonight’s Eastern Conference matchup, especially since the Hornets were so hot in the second half of the season. With that in mind, let’s get into our favorite player props from this matchup, hoping to make it that much more exciting!

Coby White OVER 18.5 Points, Rebounds & Assists

Coby White isn’t a typical starter for the Hornets, and he usually plays just under 20 minutes per game. However, he’s super-efficient in those 20 minutes and is a key part of this roster. We’re thinking he’s going to be instrumental in this must-win contest, especially since he’s had great success against the Heat in the past.

White has had 20+ PRA in 8 straight matchups with the Heat, a team he loves playing against. With that in mind, we’re riding with the over on his PRA line tonight, believing he has what it takes to help bring the Hornets to glory.

Kon Knueppel UNDER 3.5 Made Three-Pointers

Kon Knueppel now holds the record for most made three-pointers for a rookie in a single season, which is an impressive accomplishment. His body of work is second to none, and he’s slated to be a big part of the Hornets’ core for the foreseeable future.

However, Knueppel has never played in a playoff game, and we’re thinking it could be a big learning curve for him, at least in Game 1. We’re fading Knueppel’s three-point line due to his inexperience, not to mention he’s gone under this line in five straight games. He’ll figure it out eventually, but we don’t think tonight is his night.

Davion Mitchell OVER 8.5 Points

Davion Mitchell is never going to be a monster scorer for the Heat, but he is a meaningful contributor in this area when called upon. He’s done a remarkable job of that lately, putting up 9 points in an impressive 7 straight games. Mitchell will need to put his best foot forward tonight, so we’re riding with him to continue the streak for a 9th straight.
