If you didn’t watch the highlights from Game 2 of the series between the Indiana Pacers and the Cleveland Cavaliers, go to YouTube and watch them now before reading this. We’ll wait.
Now that you’ve seen what unfolded, you know that this series has been crazy, as the Cavaliers have folded in back-to-back games.
The Pacers have their number, for whatever reason, and they now have two games at home to try and close out this series. We’re hoping the Cavaliers can at least keep it close, from a basketball fan perspective, but this series could get ugly, quick.
Regardless of the final score at the end of this one, we’ve compiled our favorite Underdog player props from this game, hoping to start the weekend with some extra cash in our pockets. Let’s get started!
Donovan Mitchell was one of the only bright spots for the Cavaliers in Game 2, doing everything he could to keep his team in the game, competitive until the end. He had 48 points while shooting 50% from the field, all while only making one of seven shots from beyond the arc.
With so many injuries to think about, the Cavaliers need Mitchell to have another big game to have any chance of winning, which is why we’re taking the over on his point total. Projecting a player to have 30+ points for the third-straight game isn’t always a good idea, but Mitchell is playing too well to fade. We’re taking the over in this category until further notice.
Tyrese Haliburton has been on fire lately, scoring 19 and 22 points in the first two games of the series. While these point totals might indicate that you should take the over on his point total, we’re thinking this streak will come to an end in Game 3, especially considering he’s shooting 61.5% from the field in this series.
That is a percentage that’s certain to go down as time goes on, as it is unsustainable in the NBA against top-notch defenders. Look for Haliburton to be more of a distributing threat than a scoring threat in this one, going under his point total.
With Evan Mobley out in Game 2, Jarrett Allen stepped up to the plate and put up a dominant 22-point, 12-rebound performance. Mobley’s status is up in the air for this matchup, too, and even if he plays, we like Allen’s odds of having another great performance in the scoring column.
The Pacers didn’t have much of an answer for him in the paint, and if that trend continues, he shouldn’t have a problem scoring 14+ points in this one.
