Happy Wednesday! If you stayed up last night to watch the Play-In Games, you saw the Golden State Warriors power through questionable refereeing to secure a playoff spot. The Orlando Magic also took care of business against the Atlanta Hawks, locking up their place in the postseason, where they’ll square off against the Boston Celtics in the first round.
There are two more games on the slate tonight, the first between the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls, and the second between the Dallas Mavericks and the Sacramento Kings. We’ve decided to focus our efforts on the first matchup, putting our favorite player props together from Underdog. Let’s get into our top picks and hope to sweep the board!
Josh Giddey loves playing against the Heat. He’s had at least 24 points against them in all three of their matchups this season, and we’re expecting big things from him tonight in a must-win game.
Giddey might not be the Bulls’ best scorer, as he’s averaging their fourth-most points per game this season, but considering his history against the Heat, we have to take him over tonight.
Miami could focus its attention on Zach LaVine and Coby White, leaving Giddey to have a great evening in the scoring column.
While Josh Giddey has had a lot of success against the Heat, the same cannot be said for Tyler Herro when he plays the Bulls. For whatever reason, Herro has struggled against the Bulls throughout his career, only averaging 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.
While Herro can come up with some clutch threes in big moments for the Heat, which could happen down the stretch in this game, we don’t think he has enough in him to hit the over on this high PRA line.
Herro could be more of a villain for Heat fans tonight, in a sense, not performing as well as many would hope.
Bam Adebayo has been somewhat inconsistent in his rebounding this year. He has put up several massive games this season, dominating his opponents at times, but in other instances, he’s faltered and not been as clutch as the Heat would like.
Considering his tough matchup with the Bulls, and more specifically, Nikola Vucevic in the paint, we’re fading his rebounding total until further notice.
He has only achieved 10+ rebounds in six career games against the Bulls, so we don’t expect him to go against the grain tonight.
