5 PrizePicks NBA Props for Monday, May 8

The NBA playoffs are underway. If these series continue to play out in a similar fashion, fans are in for a real treat. Tonight, there are two games on the slate, which is filled with star-studded teams and impressive narratives to boot.

Will the Knicks and Warriors be able to even up their respective series? Or, will the Heat and the Lakers keep their foot on the gas, propelling them to a commanding 3-1 series lead? As we will watch to find out, let’s dial in, detailing our favorite player props.

Jimmy Butler OVER 28.5 Points

The Heat have continued to dominate, and a massive reason for that has been the brilliance of Jimmy Butler. In the seven playoff games that Butler has played this season, he is averaging 34.4 points per game, which includes two games with over 40 points.

In a game that the Heat are looking to pull to a commanding 3-1 lead, look for Butler to make a massive impact. We feel good about him getting at least 30 points tonight.

Austin Reaves UNDER 21.5 Points, Rebounds, Assists

Austin Reaves has encountered quite a fall from grace as of late. There was a several-week stretch that Reaves was one of the hottest players in basketball, seemingly coming out of nowhere. Whether it’s nerves, playoff inexperience, or another factor, Reaves’ last several games haven’t exactly inspired confidence.

Reaves has only achieved 22 or more PRA in one of his last four games, which was mainly propelled by an eight-assist game. We’re expecting Reaves to have another quiet night, which is why we are taking the under on his PRA.

Gabe Vincent OVER .5 Free Throws Made

Gabe Vincent has established himself as a solid contributor for the Heat. Over the series with the Knicks, Vincent has averaged 34.6 minutes per game, gaining plenty of opportunities to head to the free-throw line.

He has attempted a free throw in each of his past three games, making all nine attempts. We’re expecting that trend to continue tonight, which is why we’re taking the over on .5 made free throws.

Julius Randle UNDER 2.5 Made Three-Pointers

Julius Randle is slowly making his way back from injury and has logged 38 minutes in each of his past two games. While he continues to get acclimated back into NBA playing shape, Randle went 0-5 from the three-point line last game.

He did go 3-9 in the game before that, but we’re not expecting a similar performance tonight. Look for Randle’s impact to be felt in the post tonight rather than from beyond the arc.

Steph Curry OVER 30.5 Points

It’s the NBA playoffs, and Steph Curry and the Warriors are down 2-1 to a Lebron James-led team. Have you heard this one before?

Curry is coming off three-straight games with less than 30 points, which is an anomaly for him. Look for Curry to take over tonight, not only scoring more than 30 but also to help the Warriors even the series.
