After a jam-packed Wednesday card, we only have one NBA playoff game on the board for tonight. The Celtics will head to Atlanta to try and close out the series against the Hawks. Boston is currently a 7-point favorite at most online sportsbooks, and the total is sitting at 232.5.
Can Trae Young will his team to another victory by knocking down a plethora of three-pointers like in Game 5? Or will Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown be too much for this Hawks defense to handle?
Ready for Game 6 between Boston and Atlanta? We are too! Check out our 2 NBA Props for Thursday, April 27. Let's get it!
Tatum has been crashing the boards pretty hard ever since the playoffs started. The former Duke Blue Devil averaged 8.8 rebounds per game during the regular season but has increased that number to 9.2 during this series against the Hawks. We're expecting another big night for Tatum on the glass in Game 6.
Barring any foul trouble, we know that Tatum will probably be on the floor for at least 40 minutes of this game. That should give him plenty of rebounding chances. He grabbed 11 rebounds in Game 1 and brought down 10 rebounds in Games 2 and 3.
Sure, Tatum's rebounding numbers decreased a little bit in Games 4 and 5. However, our numbers say he has around a 60% chance of grabbing 10 or more boards in this one. Caesars must agree with us, as they are pricing the Over at -148.
We have to love a savvy old veteran like Al Horford. The former Florida Gator is a true team player who does a lot of things well on the floor. All of that being said, Horford's scoring has dropped considerably ever since the playoffs started.
The 36-year-old is only averaging 5 points per game and 3.6 assists per game during this series. Horford has played against the Hawks 7 times this season. He's only averaging a combined 9.5 points and assists in those games, which is substantially lower than this number.
You have to think the Celtics' game plan also favors an Under for Horford. Boston wants to avoid a Game 7 if at all possible, which means that Tatum and Brown will be taking the majority of the shots. That should mean fewer opportunities for Horford.
The market supports our theory on the Under. PointsBet is pricing the Under at -145, and FanDuel has this listed at 10.5 instead of 11.5. Best of luck tonight, everybody!
