We are back for week 3 of the NBA and it is starting to heat up! We have been collecting some really good team, and player data the first two weeks, now let's put it to the test!
It has been a great start to the season for some teams like OKC and Golden State, while other teams like Milwaukee and Philadelphia are still trying to get some footing.
We have a massive 15-game slate tonight, with a bunch of intriguing matchups, Bucs vs Cavs, Kings vs Heat, and 76ers vs Suns, among a few others. I have targeted a couple of star players tonight, let's cash these both and keep stacking profits!
Davis has come out of the gates hot this season! He currently leads the NBA in points per game (31.8), and out of the top 20 scorers, he has been the 2nd most efficient with shooting percentage (57.3%). He has also been very solid from the free throw line, hitting 9.2 out of 11.7 per game, good for (78%).
Davis clearly has been a focal point of this offense, as he should be. Per game, Davis has been averaging over 35 minutes, 19.5 field goal attempts, 15.7 points in the paint attempts, with an average of 19.7 points in the paint. Davis also seems to relish his opportunities to play against Jalen Duren.
According to Statmuse, Davis averages 30 points, 15 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in games against him. He has cashed this line in 3 of his last 4 games against Detroit, 4 of the last 6, and has cashed this in 3 straight games at Detroit. Davis has cashed this line in 2 of 3 on the road, and 4 out of 5 games to start the season.
Side note, how does Steve Ballmer feel right now to spend all that money on a beautiful, state-of-the-art arena, only to start the season 0-4? I assume pretty crappy, and it doesn’t get much easier tonight! Some may think it's wild to say he has a tough matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, but for those who do not know, they currently sit 3rd in the NBA in points allowed per game (104).
The Spurs have been fantastic on the defensive end so far, allowing just 2 players to go over this total and 3 players in 6 games. Luka scored 28 and Jalen Green got them twice for 29 and 36. They have stopped other key players in this run, holding SGA, Van Vleet, Ant Edwards, and Kyrie under this line.
Harden has been under this line in 25 of his last 30 games, he is under 4 straight against the Spurs and under in 4 of his last 6, and he has gone under this line in 4/6 games this season, going over twice against the Suns. I do believe Spurs find a way to gameplan to get the ball out of his hands and force the other Clipper players to beat them.
My Best Bets:
Anthony Davis (LAL) o26.5 Points (-125) MGM
James Harden (LAC) u23.5 Points (-110) MGM
