3 MLB Picks for Underdog Pick 'Em for Monday, June 26

Happy Monday! We don’t know about you, but this weekend provided some entertaining baseball. Heck, the Angels beat the Rockies 25-1 on Saturday, but still managed to lose the series.

Regardless, we’re excited to tackle tonight’s slate, which features just six games being played. Without further ado, here are our favorite player props for tonight’s contests, which all come from Underdog.

Elly De La Cruz OVER 1.5 Total Bases

If you haven’t seen Elly De La Cruz play baseball this season, stop right now and go take a look at some of his tape. He has quickly turned into a human highlight reel and is a big reason for the Cincinnati Reds’ recent success.

De La Cruz can hit, run like the wind, and is a solid fielder to boot. He currently has a .333 batting average, and continues to show up, and show out in the Reds’ games.

While he’s coming off a zero-hit game, we’re confident that he’ll get right back to his slugging ways, garnering at least two bases in tonight’s contest. Plus, he’s facing off against Cole Irvin, who has struggled as of late for the Baltimore Orioles.

Justin Verlander OVER 6.5 Strikeouts

We’re not going to sugar coat this one. Verlander is desperately due for a big outing, and he’ll have a great opportunity to do so tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Despite only having two games on the season with 7 or more strikeouts, we like Verlander’s chances at smashing the over on this total. The Brewers have the fourth-highest strikeout total in the league and have continued to battle injuries. This has caused the Brew Crew to put together sub-optimal lineups, which could be a great sign for Verlander.

Plus, Verlander has gone at least six innings in three of his last four starts, meaning that the Mets believe in his ability to get the job tonight. Don’t overthink Verlander’s strikeout total in this spot tonight.

Spencer Strider OVER 98.5 Pitches

As a Minnesota Twins fan, it pains me to write this one. However, it has to be done for the good of the sport. Strider has been on fire this season, with an 8-2 record, a 3.93 ERA, and an overall WHIP of 1.15.

Simply put, he’s a nightmare pitcher for this Twins lineup that has the highest strikeout rate in the league. We would have taken Strider’s strikeout total instead, but 9.5 is too difficult of a line for us, which is why we’re straying away.

Strider has eclipsed 98.5 pitches in three of his last five games, continuing to go deep into each contest that he’s a part of. We believe that he’ll make quick work of this Twins lineup, staying in the game until at least the 7th inning. With that in mind, we’re confident that Strider will hit the over on 98.5 pitches tonight.
