Both of our prop plays on players missing the cut last week did not pan out. In fact, both guys were competing well into the weekend.
However, Tom Hoge and Andrew Putman both played incredibly well and finished inside the Top 40 with ease to cash our tickets on both of them. The icing on the cake was Matthew NeSmith. He finished in the Top 20 at 3 to 1 odds and he was close to winning the tournament outright, allowing us to cash this loaded play.
This week the ZOZO Championship marries both the PGA and the Japan Golf Tour. There are no cuts here so we are a bit limited in terms of prop play options. Don’t worry, we still found a couple that we believe provide the value we are always looking for.
Featured PGA Tour Offers
Top 20: Sebastian Munoz
Best Available Odds: +140 at BetMGM
In 2020, Munoz grabbed a 14th-place finish in his 1st start here at the ZOZO. He followed that up last season with a 4th place finish.
He has struggled to start this season with 3 straight missed cuts, but we believe he will turn it around here where he seems extremely comfortable. We think Munoz could be a dark horse to win outright, but prefer the safety net of the Top 20 instead at the plus money odds.
Top 20: Corey Conners
Best Available Odds: -105 at FanDuel
Conners has been a stud here at the ZOZO in his 2 starts at the event. In 2019 he finished 6th and in 2020 he posted an 8th-place finish.
He was 16th in strokes gained on approach, 5th off the tee, and 13th tee-to-green last season. He has a game tailored for this event and we expect him in the final couple of groups on Sunday.
Top 20: Keegan Bradley
Best Available Odds: +125 at FanDuel
Conners and Munoz are the other 2 we expect to see in the top 20 this weekend, but our favorite here is Keegan Bradley. He has finishes of 13th in 2019 and 7th place last season.
He is coming off a 5th-place finish at the Sanderson Open where he shot -13 for the event. He should have no issue getting inside the Top 20 again here.
Top 10: Collin Morikawa
Best Available Odds: +170 at FanDuel
Morikawa has a great course record here with a 22nd and 7th place finish in the last couple of years. He also is strong statistically in the strokes gained categories.
He finished 17th in tee-to-green and was 3rd on tour in approaches in this category. We believe he has the game to win here but a top-10 finish is all we will need to cash this ticket.
