US Open Predictions Odds, 3 Outrights, and 2 Matchups

Golf’s third major is here, and our PGA Tour expert is locked and loaded with lots of predictions for the US Open. Get his top picks here, as the best golfers in the world take aim at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.

According to DraftKings, Scottie Scheffler is once again the heavy favorite to win the whole enchilada. He’s currently listed at +275 odds with Bryson DeChambeau having the 2nd-shortest odds to win at +750. Without further ado, let’s get to the bets. Good luck!

Top Pick to Win: Xander Schauffele (+2200)

Xander has consistently performed well at the US Open. Over the last 5 starts at this major, he has finished no worse than 14th. The rest have all been Top 10 finishes.

After struggling at the Players, Xander has gone on to grab an 8th-place finish at the Masters, 11th at the Truist, and 28th at the PGA. He has been knocking on the door here for too long. He is primed to bust through this year.

Value Pick to Win: Shane Lowry (+4500)

Lowry had a rough go at the PGA where he missed the cut. Prior, he finished 2nd at the Truist and is coming off a strong 13th place finish last week at the RBC. He finished in the Top 20 in back-to-back years at the US Open.

He is one of the few players still at the top of his game who also performed well the last time the US Open was here at Oakmont. In 2016, he finished 2nd on this track and can contend this year.

Long Shot to Win: Hideki Matsuyama (+7000)

Hideki is great value this week. He finished 6th last year and 4th back in 2023. He knows what it takes to get around on a super difficult course like Oakmont.

On the year, he is 17th on Tour in total strokes gained. 70 to 1 is too good to pass up on a longshot.

Min Woo Lee OVER Ryan Fox (-115)

Ryan Fox is coming off the high of winning the RBC Canadian Open last week and we expect there to be some drop off. After missing the cut at the US Open in 2021 and 2022, he snuck out a 43rd and 56th place finish the last 2 years.

Min Woo has performed better at this major. He was 5th in 2023 and finished 21st last year. The chef should be able to take care of the hungover Fox in this matchup.

Tyrell Hatton OVER Justin Thomas (-105)

JT has been up and down all season. After winning the RBC Heritage and following it up with a 2nd place finish at the Truist, he missed the cut at the PGA and then was 31st at the Memorial.

If you take out his 8th place finish in 2021, he would have just 1 made cut in 4 most recent US Opens. Hatton was 26th last year and 27th the year prior. We like the LIV star to take down the inconsistent JT this week.
