The Memorial Tournament Top Matchups and Best Outrights

The PGA Tour makes its yearly stop at Muirfield Village for the Memorial Tournament on Thursday, May 29. Some of the best golfers in the world will do battle on the hallowed grounds that the great Jack Nicklaus built. There’s just something special about watching a golf event at this venue.

As most hardcore golf fans probably expected, Scottie Scheffler is the favorite to win, with +280 odds over at DraftKings Sportsbook. One of our top golf insiders has plenty of predictions for The Memorial. Get his top matchups and outrights below. Best of luck, golf fans.

Top Tier: Xander Schauffele (+1600)

Over the last 5 years, Xander has been arguably the most consistent participant in this event. He has finished no worse than 24th, which was in 2023.

He finished a personal best 8th last year and has finished inside the Top 20 in 4 of his last 5 starts this season. He seems primed to finally get the job done here at Muirfield.

Value Pick: Si Woo Kim (+4000)

We are sticking with our consistency model here on Si Woo. Like Xander, he has been consistently performing well here at Muirfield. He has finished inside the Top 10 twice in the last 5 years while finishing in the Top 20 in those other 3 years.

His 4th place finish in 2023 was his best to date but that could be overshadowed by this year’s finish. Just like Xander, he has also finished 4th in the last 5 events this season. At 40:1, his price is super inviting.

Long Shot: Christian Bezuidenhout (+11000)

He is coming off his best finish over his last 10 events this season with a 16th place finish in the Charles Schwab Challenge last weekend. He is also coming off his best finish at this event last year when he finished 4th.

We cannot pass up the over 100:1 odds on Bezuidenhout here and will be playing him with a small sprinkle.

Ludvig Aberg OVER Viktor Hovland (-115)

Aberg has only played in the Memorial once. Last year was that initial start and he finished 5th in a memorable performance. While he has been struggling a bit as of late, we like him in this spot against Hovland.

Yes, Hovland did win the event 2 years ago, but he has also had some years where he struggled with 3 straight years outside the Top 45.

Sam Burns OVER Maverick McNealy (-110)

Burns has finished in the Top 20 in 3 of his last 4 starts. He has also grabbed a 16th and 15th place finish here at Muirfield over the last 2 years, respectively.

Here we get him matched up against Maverick, who is coming off a missed cut at Charles Schwab and even better, a missed cut here last year in his lone start in the Memorial.
