The Masters is the most unique of all the Major tournaments in golf. It is always held at the same course, and the history lines up well with what it takes to win this event. Here are some of the criteria common among past Masters champions.

1. Only 3 past champions finished outside the Top 40 in the previous year’s event.
2. Only 3 past champions have been under the age of 25.
3. 23 of the last 27 champions had a Top 5 finish or better on the current season.
4. 8 of the last 12 champions had a win in the current season.
5. 10 of the last 11 champions had been in the Top 6 in at least 1 of the 8 previous major tournaments.
6. Since the 1950s, on average, the champion has had at least 6 previous starts at the Masters.

Collin Morikawa (+1600)

Morikawa is our favorite pick to win the Masters this year. He fits all the criteria except for 6+ Masters starts. Over the last 3 seasons, he has finished in the Top 10 in all 3 starts and was 3rd last year. He is primed to make a run for the title this year.

Hideki Matsuyama (+2800)

There have been 18 Masters champions that won multiple times. Hideki is looking to join that group as he was the 2021 winner. He checks all the boxes on our criteria to be champion and the oddsmakers agree by making him the 10th shortest odds to win the event.

Tommy Fleetwood (+4000)

Tommy checks all the boxes and after a 3rd place finish last year, he could be on the cusp of his 1st major championship. His best finishes have been runner-up at both the Open and the US Open in 2018 and 2019 respectively. At 40:1, he is well worth the price here.

Russell Henley (+5500)

Henley is the best value on the board in our opinion. He fits all the criteria and has been playing solid golf all season to date. His worst finish was 39th at the Genesis but has picked up four Top 10 finishes, including a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Henley has the tools to get a green jacket and at 55:1, the value is too much to pass up.

Keegan Bradley OVER Davis Thompson (-110)

Keegan has made the cut in all 8 of his starts this season while Thompson has missed 2 of his last 4. Thompson will be making his Masters debut this year and his nerves will likely be extremely high.

For Keegan, he has been consistent in his 2 Masters starts over the last 5 years. He finished 23rd in 2023 and better himself to 22nd last year. We like Keegan’s consistency here in this matchup.

Shane Lowry OVER Brooks Koepka (-115)

Lowry checks all the boxes to win the Masters, except for finishing inside the Top 40 last year. Prior to that, he had been in the Top 25 each of his last 4 starts. This season, Shane has picked up 4 consecutive Top 20 finishes and should be able to top Brooks in this matchup.

Koepka has been volatile to say the least here at Augusta. He was 45th last year and missed the cut in 2 of the previous 4 years. The other 2 years, he picked up 7th and a runner-up. He doesn’t seem to be thrilled with the game as of recent while Lowry has been his happy go lucky self all year.
