Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, and a host of other top PGA Tour players will attack the 2024 Pebble Beach Pro-Am this weekend. This prestigious event tees off on Thursday, February 1 and golf fans will surely be treated to some great golf and breathtaking views.
Check out our best bets below, which include four full-tournament head-to-head matchups and three placement props. Best of luck and enjoy this wonderful tournament.
Day was a bit of a letdown last week as he failed to make the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open, but prior had been playing decent golf. His 10th place finish at the Sentry gives hope that last week was just a bump in the road.
He faces Byeong Hun An who placed 4th at the Sentry and shot well at the Sony. However, An finished 37th in his lone appearance here last season. For Day, that is worse than any of his finishes at Pebble Beach.
He has yet to finish outside the Top 25 and has placed 4th twice in the last 4 years. We expect Day to bounce back nicely here at Pebble where he is extremely comfortable.
Cantlay did not participate last year but racked up some fine finishes in years past. In 2020 he picked up an 11th place finish and followed that up with 3rd in 2021 and 4th in 2022.
Homa has also had success here but the latest finish coming in 2021 where he placed 7th. When both participating, Cantlay has consistently finished lower than Homa here.
Hossler is off to a strong start in 2024. After making the cut at the AMEX and finishing 47th, he tied for 6th last week at the Farmers Insurance Open. Hojgaard has been no slouch either, finishing 2nd last week in his debut tournament of 2024.
Here at Pebble for the Pro-Am, Hojgaard will be making his 1st start in his career this week. For Hossler, it will be his 5th in 5 years. He missed the cut just once and has finished 3rd in 2022 and 11th last year.
We believe Beau’s experience in the event will lead him to a victory over Hojgaard.
Spieth faces Morikawa in one of the highest power matchups of the weekend. Much like the previous matchup, Spieth has the experience here in the event while Morikawa is starting for the 1st time.
From 2020-2022, Spieth had not finished outside the Top 10 but last year was a weak finish where he struggled to just make the cut. This year, Spieth has only played in 1 event but made his mark by finishing 3rd at the Sentry.
Morikawa finished 5th in the same event and then missed the cut last week at the Farmers. This is a great spot to fade Collin.
Taylor already has a Top 10 finish in his bag this year when he went to Hawaii and finished 7th at the Sony Open. Now he gets to play in an event where he has had previous success.
He has yet to finish outside the Top 40 in all 5 starts he has made at the Pro-Am. In 2020, he was able to take home the trophy when he won the event outright.
Moore has only competed in this event twice in his career. That being in 2022 and last season. He finished in 16th in 2022 and outdid himself by 1 spot the following year for a 15th place finish.
So far this season, Moore has 1 Top 25 finish which came to him at the Sentry last month. We love this plus money price on Moore to simply crack the Top 40.
We spoke about Beau’s ability to play well at this event in his matchup analysis with Hojgaard. If he is to make the cut, the chances of him being in the Top 30 are extremely high.
We are willing to pay the small amount of juice on this wager to get Beau in this spot. Our numbers say this price should be around -140ish so we'll gladly lay the -105.
