2023 Shriners Open 8 Best Bets We Love

Focusing on other sports during football season is a great way to put some extra money in your pocket. The bookmakers are so focused on making lines for NFL and CFB that sports like golf and UFC often take a back seat.

To that point, we are attacking the 2023 Shriners Open. After a thorough analysis of the board, we've found 8 best bets that we love. Check them out below. Good luck!

Matthew NeSmith (-110) OVER Doug Ghim

Doug Ghim has participated in the Shriners 3 times over the past 5 years. His best finish was in 2021 when he finished 40th. On the contrary, NeSmith has participated in 4 straight events with his worst finish being 18th in 2019.

He is coming off runners-up finish last year and should be in contention late into the weekend here. He is also coming off a solid 25th place performance at the Sanderson Farms.

His opponent, Ghim, failed to make the cut in the same event. NeSmith to win this matchup is our favorite play of the weekend.

Adam Schenk (-120) OVER J.T. Poston

Both Schenk and Poston have not competed since August. Schenk grabbed a Top 10 finish in the TOUR Championship while Poston finished tied for 22nd at the BMW.

Here at the Shriners, Poston is coming off his best finish which was 20th in 2022. He also finished 27th the year prior which broke a 3-year missed cut streak.

For Schenk, he has been successful here over the past 4 years. The 27th place finish in 2020 is his worst and he is coming off a 12th place finish last year. Schenk should continue his strong play here at the Shriners and sneak past Poston in this matchup.

Cam Davis (-110) OVER Si Woo Kim

Cam Davis has been extremely consistent over the past 4 years here at the Shriners. He has an average finish of 36th place. Si Woo has been a more erratic, but he has grabbed two Top 10 finishes over the last 3 years with the other being a missed cut.

Davis is coming off a 3rd place finish at the Fortinet Championship while Si Woo has not competed since late August. We are backing the more consistent Davis here and believe the fact that he has competed recently with success bodes well for us here in this matchup.

Top 40 Finish: Harry Hall (+140)

Hall finished inside the Top 40 in 33.3% of his events last season. Here at the Shriners, he participated in the event over the last 2 years and picked up an 8th place finish in 2021 and followed that up with a 15th place finish last year.

We expect Hall to get inside the Top 40 once again here at the Shriners. He may regress a bit but that will still see him cashing this prop.

Top 40 Finish: Joel Dahmen (+120)

In 3 of the last 4 Shirners, Dahmen has found his way inside the Top 40. He is coming off a great 13th place finish at the Sanderson Farms Championship where he shot 13 under.

Last season, he finished inside the Top 40 in 8 of his 29 events. We like Dahmen to continue to his success here at the Shriners.

Top 40 Finish: Martin Laird (+105)

Laird finished outside this number in his latest tournament when he finished 56th at the Sanderson. However, he grabbed a 19th place finish the tournament prior at the Fortinet.

In 4 of his last 5 starts at the Shriners, including the last 3 straight, Laird has finished inside the Top 40. He won the tournament outright back in 2020 and followed that up with an 11th place finish.

Last year, he was able to hold on for a 37th place finish and we believe Laird will do the same this season.

Top 20 Finish: Adam Hadwin (+160)

Hadwin has Top 20 finishes, which were Top 10 finishes in 3 of his 4 starts here at the Shriners. He was 44th at the BMW but 16th at the FedEx St Jude.

He has been off since late August and should be well rested and healthy to make another run here at the Shriners.

Top 20 Finish: Andrew Putnam (+160)

In 6 of his 31 starts last season, Andrew Putnam was able to finish inside the Top 20. The Shriners was one of those events as he finished 12th while shooting 16 under par.

He finished 11th in 2021 and 18th in 2019. In 2020, he had his worst finish here which was 58th. Putnam will look to get in contention deep into Sunday this weekend.
