The PGA Tour will tee it up on Thursday, November 9th at the 2023 Butterfield Bermuda Championship. While some of the country is preparing for winter, some of pro golf's biggest stars will be basking in the sun at Port Royal Golf Club in Southampton, Bermuda.
Most of the world is focused on football and basketball, but let's make some cold hard cash on golf. Here are 7 best bets for the 2023 Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
Ben Griffin has only played at the Bermuda once, that being last season. You would not have known it was his 1st time at the event as he navigated the course with ease and finished in an eye-popping 3rd place.
Like Griffin, Bhatia made his Bermuda debut last season. While he finished in a solid spot of 17th. However, Griffin is going to be playing with supreme confidence and we believe will finish above Bhatia on the leaderboard.
Daffue has missed the cut in 4 of his last 5 starts. He did make the cut in his latest start at the WW Tech Championship and finished tied for 38th. Lower, also competed in the WW Tech Championship and finished tied for 23rd.
Daffue made his Bermuda debut last year and finished a respectable 29th. However, that was short from Lower who played to an 8th place finish. Lower also competed in 2021 and finished 17th.
Lower seems to be playing better each year here and should be able to top Daffue like he has recently.
We played Detry last week at the WW Tech Championship over Emilliano Grillo who missed the cut while our pick, Detry finished in 38th. Now, we are playing Detry over Glover here.
In 2021, Detry finished 22nd in his 1st time participating in this event. Then, last season, Detry finished runner-up.
Glover debuted last season here and made the cut, however, that was enough to finish 63rd. We like Detry’s recent form and his success here at the Bermuda.
It is no lie; Brian Gay has been atrocious in 9 of his last 10 starts. He missed the cut in 9, including 6 straight tournaments. That said, in his last 2 starts, he narrowly missed the cut and shot under par through Friday.
Now he is at a tournament where he knows the course like the back of his hand. In 2019, he finished 3rd before winning the tournament outright in 2020. Since then, Gay finished 12th and 11th over the last 2 seasons.
Now we get him at plus money to finish inside the Top 40, a spot he has always finished inside of here at the Bermuda Championship.
Sean has only competed here twice over the last 4 years but both starts were a success. In 2021, he finished in 22nd and followed that up with an 11th place finish last season.
We are getting him at plus money here because he has missed 8 straight cuts leading up to this point. He has been off since early October which should serve him well.
Ben Griffin is coming off shooting a -17 at the World-Wide Tech Championship where he finished tied for 23rd. In 5 of his last 6 made cuts, Griffin has finished inside the Top 30.
In his lone start here at the Bermuda, which came last season, Griffin played like a savvy veteran and grabbed a 3rd place finish. We believe he will be in contention on Sunday and will certainly finish inside the Top 30.
Knox finished 49th last season here but prior to that he had yet to finish outside the Top 20. A 12th in 2021, 16th in 2020, and 11th 2019 scatter his previous finishes.
His recent form has not been what we would hope in backing someone to finish inside the Top 30 here but he is still more experienced on this track than most of his competition.
