From the Red River Rivalry to a storm-soaked Georgia-Alabama showdown, here are the must-watch college football games for this Saturday, October 10.

College football’s biggest Saturday of the fall so far is here, and the slate reads like a watch party wish list. A top-five showdown headlines ABC’s primetime window, the Red River Rivalry kicks off the afternoon in Dallas, and a surprise 5-0 team gets its first real test in front of a national audience. Whether you’re hosting or just flipping channels all day, here’s what deserves your full attention this Saturday.

Texas vs. Oklahoma: The Red River Rivalry Has a Quarterback Problem (For One Team)

Nothing beats a rivalry game at a neutral site with a Ferris wheel in the background, and the Cotton Bowl in Dallas delivers exactly that at 3:30 p.m. on ABC. Top-ranked Texas (4-0) rolls in as a 7-to-7.5-point favorite with the total sitting around 39.5, and most of the pregame buzz is about who’s even throwing passes for Oklahoma. John Mateer is reportedly pushing to play through the hand injury that’s limited him, but Oklahoma has already had to lean on backup quarterback play once this season, and his numbers this year, 883 yards and 8 touchdowns, mask an offense that’s had real separation issues this season.

On the other side, Arch Manning gets another shot at padding his Heisman resume and his personal unbeaten record against the Sooners. He’s thrown for 862 yards and seven scores without an interception, though a string of dropped passes has kept his numbers from looking as gaudy as the hype suggests. Watch for Texas defensive lineman Colin Simmons, who should feast against an Oklahoma offensive line that’s been banged up along the front. If you only watch one game start to finish this weekend, make it this one.

Georgia at Alabama: Two Unbeatens, One Night, and a Storm Watch

This is the game of the year so far on paper, and the weather might make it even more memorable. Second-ranked Georgia travels to Bryant-Denny Stadium to face sixth-ranked Alabama at 7:30 p.m. on ABC, with both teams sitting at 5-0 and Alabama as a slight 1.5-point favorite. Add in forecasts calling for heavy rain and wind gusts near 20-30 mph from a tropical system tracking through the state, and you’ve got a defensive slugfest brewing almost by accident.

Alabama sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell has been the revelation of the season, torching Mississippi State for 285 yards and three scores last week and climbing into the thick of the Heisman conversation. Georgia counters with a defense that hasn’t allowed a first-half lead all year and quarterback Gunner Stockton quietly playing some of the most efficient football in the SEC. Alabama has won five straight in this series, including last year’s 24-21 comeback in Athens, before Georgia got revenge in the SEC title game. Grab some snacks and settle in, because this one’s going to be close, gritty, and loud all night.

UCLA at Oregon: Can the Bruins Crash the Autzen Party?

Kickoff is 3:30 p.m. on CBS, and 13th-ranked Oregon is a heavy 11.5-to-12.5-point favorite at home over 21st-ranked UCLA, with the total hovering around 59.5. The Ducks are fresh off their bye week and have won six straight at Autzen Stadium, a building that’s as loud and hostile as any in the sport on a big Saturday night atmosphere moved to the afternoon slot. UCLA arrives undefeated at 4-0, but its résumé is thin, every win has come against teams ranked outside the top 65 nationally, and three of those four opponents rank near the bottom of the country against the run, which happens to be exactly what the Bruins want to do.

The question is whether UCLA’s ground-and-pound approach holds up against a more talented, faster Oregon front. Most models like the Ducks to win comfortably, somewhere around 36-23, but a tight, physical first half before Oregon pulls away late would make for appointment viewing if you like contrasting styles clashing in the Pacific Northwest.

Pittsburgh’s Big Moment: Can the Surprise 5-0 Team Handle the Spotlight?

Noon kickoff at Acrisure Stadium brings one of the sport’s fun surprise stories into the Top 25 spotlight. Pittsburgh has rattled off five straight wins and cracked the AP poll at No. 25, but the Panthers will try to do it without starting quarterback Mason Heintschel, who is out for the season after tearing his ACL against Virginia Tech. Pitt is still favored by about 3.5 points over North Carolina, leaning on one of the stingiest run defenses in the country, second nationally, allowing just over 57 rushing yards a game, to cover for an offense that now has to replace its signal caller on the fly.

North Carolina enters 2-2 and coming off a competitive loss to Notre Dame, looking to snap a two-game skid. If Pitt’s defense travels the way it has all season, this could be a low-scoring, workmanlike win that keeps the feel-good story alive heading into the heart of ACC play.

This Week’s Best Bets

If you’re building out a Saturday watch list with some action attached, here’s how these four stack up.

  • Texas vs. Oklahoma: Texas -7.5
  • Georgia at Alabama: Under 51.5
  • UCLA at Oregon: Oregon -11.5
  • North Carolina at Pittsburgh: Under 47.5

Four games, four very different flavors, rivalry chaos, a primetime slugfest, a statement test out west, and a feel-good underdog tale trying to survive without its starting quarterback. If any of these numbers move before kickoff, our college football betting guide is a good place to double-check the line. Clear your Saturday.
