PointsBet is a premier global online gaming operator; they announced the launch Wednesday of their platform-leading mobile app and their digital sports betting product in the great state of Virginia.

This will be the eighth state in which PointsBet is now active as a mobile operator. Prior to the Virginia launch, they were licensed and operating in Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, and West Virginia.

Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO, had this to say, "We are thrilled to be launching in Virginia with our partner Colonial Downs, now bringing our best-in-market technology to such a passionate sports community," going on to say, "Virginian sports bettors will now have access to the fastest online sports betting product with the most betting options, including robust in-play capabilities."

This all came together as the Virginia Lottery has issued PointsBet along with racetrack partner Colonial Downs, the necessary betting supplier license, which allows them to offer mobile sports betting in the state.

PointsBet adds to a growing list of Virginia operators who have handled $2.3 billion in bets so far this year, generating more than $14.3 million in tax revenue for the state.
