betrivers launches live dealer games in michigan

Chicago-based Rush Street Interactive, Inc. received approval from the Michigan Gaming Control Board to launch Evolution Gaming’s live dealer games in the state on their popular site BetRivers.com.

The July 22 launch enabled casino game lovers to enjoy an exciting range of virtual live dealer table games right from their desktop browsers or on their mobile phones or tablets. Evolution Gaming is the global leader in live dealer table games offering an easy-to-use platform for both low-stakes players and whales alike.

The games offered through BetRivers.com include Blackjack, Roulette, and Baccarat variants. Players can also interact with each other and the dealer in real-time through the built-in chat service.

How Does Live Betting Work?

Live tables are directly streamed to the player’s device in HD and there is no need to download a separate client to enjoy the experience. Virtual live dealer games also offer instant payouts, combining the biggest advantage of digital casino games with the social aspects of land-based casinos.

Live Dealer games are already built into the BetRivers Michigan Casino and SportsBook app. Unlike the majority of operators in Michigan, BetRivers uses one app for both their sports betting and casino products. Users can find everything from live betting on sports to real-money slot games, and now, live dealer casino games.

Rush Street Interactive operates in Michigan through their partnership with Little River Casino Resort in Manistee and now they are the first online Michigan casino to offer live dealer casino tables.

Evolution Gaming Continues to See Growth

For Evolution Gaming, the Michigan live casino studio joins New Jersey and Pennsylvania as its third in the ever-growing US iGaming market and eleventh worldwide. From Evolution's Jeff Millar, Commercial Director North America:

“This is another major landmark in Evolution’s US growth. We are fully committed to the new Michigan market – we launched games from our NetEnt brand with all operators in Michigan at the market opening in January, and we have now become the first provider to launch live casino in Michigan."

Evolution Gaming also noted that the Michigan studio is their largest to date with room to expand to fit BetRivers' future needs.

Continued Growth for Michigan

For Michigan gamblers, the start of live dealer games is yet another milestone for a state that has seen several in 2021. Nine gaming operators launched in the state from day one including BetRivers, DraftKings, FanDuel, William Hill, TwinSpires, BetMGM, Golden Nugget, Barstool, and PokerStars.

With the state's YTD sports betting handle already approaching $250 million and casino handle nearing $500 million, Michigan's total tax revenue is expected to exceed $100 million by the end of July.

We will see what, if any, effect being first-to-market with live dealer games has on BetRivers' casino handle in Michigan. Through June, BetRivers currently has the fourth-largest total online casino revenue in the state at $28,544,107. BetMGM is well in front in Michigan with a total online casino revenue of $157,900,728.
