The Sweet 16 is not the only bracket we are looking to bet on Thursday, as the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play offers one of the more unique betting events on the golf calendar. The 64 participants will compete in groups of four, with the winners advancing to heads up play for the remainder of the tournament.
On top of the WGC Dell Match Play, we are also treated to the Corales Puntacana Championship which does not have the star power but still has edges that we believe we can take advantage of.
We got our 1st repeat champion on the year last weekend as Sam Burns repeated his victory at the Valspar from a year prior. It took a playoff against rookie, Davis Riley. Burns has decided to withdraw from the Match Play event but we still have a ton of studs in the field including the top 5 players in the current world golf rankings.
The WGC Dell Match Play takes place at the Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas. Billy Horschel is the reigning champion, while Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland, and Justin Thomas are currently the betting favorites. The first group tees off at 9:20 tomorrow morning (broadcast available on ESPN+), so be sure to get your bets in today so work (or the start of the Sweet 16) doesn't get in the way tomorrow morning.

Kisner has won this event and come runner up in 2018 and 2019. He is an extremely strong match play golfer and here we get him against Marc Leishman whose best finish in this event has been 9th. We believe Kisner will make short work of Leishman in Round 1.

Horschel won the last Dell Match Play and we believe will make another strong run this year. He is in the top 25 of driving accuracy this season and 8th in scoring average which all line up well for him here at Austin Country Club. Defending champion, at 7 to 1? We are in!

While the Corales Championship does not nearly have the star player that you will find at the WGC, it is a much easier event to handicap, and there are still plenty of familiar names. The favorites this week include last year's champion Joel Dahmen, as well as a pair of golfers that played well at the Valspar last week: Sahith Theegala and Jhonattan Vegas.

Graeme may not be the force he once was on the tour, but here, at the Corales Golf Club; he seems to drink from the fountain of youth. In 2021, he finished 4th which was a start removed from his outright victory in 2019. The field is not strong to say the least, and the experience that McDowell has here, he is a must play for us.

Grillo has been good at the Corales Golf Club, making the cut in all 3 of his starts. However, he has made the cut just 6 times in his 14 events this season. He is extremely inconsistent and at almost 2 to 1, he is well worth the risk on missing this cut.
