4 MLB Underdog Pick'Em Selections for Thursday, June 29

Happy Thursday to all! We hope you were able to turn in to last night’s Yankees-Athletics game, as Domingo German threw the 24th Perfect Game in MLB history. Quite a historic achievement for him. Will we have a Perfect Game in back-to-back days? Probably not.

However, we’ve combed over today’s 12-game slate, and put together our favorite player props, which all come from Underdog. Let’s look for a sweep today and head into the Fourth of July weekend with some extra cash in our pockets!

Brandon Pfaadt UNDER 4 Strikeouts

Brandon Pfaadt has only started five games in his MLB career and has only recorded five or more strikeouts in one of those outings. He’s given up 22 earned runs in his five starts and hasn’t exactly inspired confidence.

Today, he’s facing off against the Tampa Bay Rays, who have struggled offensively over the past few games. While that might make one lean towards the over on this total, the Rays also don’t tend to strikeout a lot.

We’re expecting the Rays to use today’s game as batting practice, teeing off against Pfaadt. We wouldn’t be surprised if he had a short outing, resulting in less opportunities for strikeouts.

Shohei Ohtani OVER 1.5 Total Bases

Shohei Ohtani is one of the hottest players in baseball at the moment. He is one of the league’s most prolific hitters, and his ability as a pitcher is also one of the best in the entire MLB.

Ohtani has secured a hit in his last six games and is coming off a three-hit performance. At this point, it doesn’t make any sense to bet against Ohtani, which is why we’re taking the over on his total bases today.

Max Scherzer OVER 7.5 Strikeouts

Sometimes, you just have to go with the stars, which is what we’re doing today. After a relatively slow start to the season, Scherzer has picked things up in the strikeout category.

In his last six games, Scherzer’s strikeout totals have been 8, 9, 10, 2, 8, and 8. He’s putting together a nice run, and we’re expecting that to continue today against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Brewers have the fourth-highest strikeout rate in the majors, and they’re likely going to have a tough time against Scherzer today. His stuff has been simply incredible, and it’ll be difficult for the Brewers to keep up with.

Adam Wainwright OVER 3 Strikeouts

Wainwright’s season has been up-and-down, winning just one of his last five starts. His last start came against the Chicago Cubs, where he pitched for just three innings, giving up seven runs, and not striking out anyone.

However, we’re expecting Wainwright to have at least four strikeouts today, in what should be a bounce back game against the Houston Astros. Wainwright is a longtime veteran of the game, and he knows what to do after a hit parade. Look for Wainwright to have a hot start in today’s matchup.
