After a 2-1 Monday, we're excited about today's baseball slate! Jeff McNeil had a huge night and easily cashed our singles prop. Conner Capel also got the job done for us, even though the A's got blown out by the Cubs.
Our only loser was on Yuli Gurriel, who went 0-4 to burn our singles prop. That was surprising, especially with Gurriel's history of success against Giants starter Logan Webb. That goes to show the massive amount of variance that can occur with props on hitters.
Here are 3 PrizePicks MLB Props for Tuesday, April 18. Best of luck with your picks! Let's start a winning streak (said in Lou Brown from Major League's voice).
Wisdom has been raking the ball to start his 2023 campaign. The 6-2, 220-pound third baseman is batting .288 with 8 home runs and 13 RBI through only 52 at-bats. He cranked out 2 homers last night against the A's, and we don't see him slowing down tonight against Oakland starter Ken Waldichuk.
Waldichuk has a WHIP of 1.93, which shows that he has yet to get a good feel for where his pitches are going to go. Wisdom should be able to capitalize on Waldichuk's poor current form in this game.
Even if Wisdom doesn't get a hit off of Waldichuk, he should fare pretty well against the A's bullpen. Oakland relievers have a ridiculous combined ERA of 5.88, which is one of the worst in MLB. Take the Over!
This one's a bit scary, especially with how well Atlanta has been hitting the ball of late. Nevertheless, we think there's enough value in this Under. Spencer Strider is a bona fide Cy Young Award candidate and we expect him to keep the Padre hitters guessing all night long.
Strider has a FIP of 2.26, which is quite a bit better than his current ERA of 3.38. That tells us that some of the runs he's given up have been due to bad luck. Strider is averaging an insane 15.2 strikeouts per 9 innings.
Blake Snell scares the SNELL out of us (lol), but he's a veteran guy that knows how to pitch. Snell has struggled through his first 2 starts in 2023. However, Snell has a BABIP of .327, which suggests that some positive regression is coming soon. Take the Under!
Gray is an interesting case. He struggled mightily in his first start against Atlanta on April 1st, but that can be forgiven because of the Braves' remarkably talented lineup. In his last 2 starts since then, Gray has only given up 3 earned runs over 11.1 innings.
If Gray can keep up that kind of consistency, he can easily surpass this strikeouts number. The 25-year-old struck out 6 Rockies back on April 6, and he has the potential to do the same against Baltimore.
Speaking of Baltimore, the Orioles strike out quite a bit. They rank 22nd in strikeouts per game with 9.13. Let's play the Over!
