3 MLB Best Bets for Monday, May 15

We're feeling good after a nice 2-1 performance last Friday. The Mariners blew out the Tigers in grand fashion, just as we predicted. Also, the Angels gave us a dramatic comeback victory over the Guardians.

Our only loss was on the Texas Rangers, who dominated the Oakland A's during the entire series. Unfortunately, the Rangers' bullpen blew the game on Friday evening. Overall though, 2-1 was a nice way to end last week.

Let's keep it rolling with 3 MLB Best Bets for Monday, May 15. Best of luck with all of your action on the diamond! Let's ride!

Best Bet: Rockies (+110)

Let's be honest: Both of these teams stink to high heaven! That being said, we actually rate Colorado as a tad bit better than Cincy, especially at home. The Reds will have the starting pitcher edge with Hunter Greene going tonight, but that's the only advantage they'll have in this one.

Colorado's offense hasn't been too good, but they still rank better than Cincinnati in runs, batting average, OPS, and homers. Not only that, but Greene still walks too many hitters, as evidenced by his 1.63 WHIP over his last 3 starts.

The Rockies will counter with Connor Seabold, who has a decent 3.60 ERA over his last 3 starts. We don't think the Reds will be able to do too much against Seabold. On the flip side, McMahon and Diaz have both homered off of Greene in their careers. We'll play the Rox as a home dog!

Best Bet: Diamondbacks -1.5 (-125)

Zac Gallen isn't the only D'Backs starter who's been dealing lately. Merrill Kelly has put together some solid performances of his own. The Arizona righty has been lights out over his last 3 starts with a WHIP of only 0.89 and an ERA of 2.84!

Even though the fade-A's train burned us on Friday, we'll keep riding it a few times a week until further notice. Oakland can hit a little at times, but their pitching has been horrendous. The A's will hand Drew Rucinski the ball, and he's been equally as horrendous with a WHIP over 2 and an ERA over 8!

That probably won't pair well against a D'Backs lineup that ranks 6th in runs and 2nd in batting average. As you might expect, Arizona has a much better bullpen as well. Let's play the run line!

Best Bet: Phillies (+102)

This line just seems all wrong! Alex Wood has great stuff when he's on, but the Giants lefty hasn't pitched in about a month. San Fran just activated Wood from the 15-day IL after he suffered a hamstring injury back in April. You have to wonder just how many pitches the Giants will give him.

We must need our heads examined for betting on Bailey Falter tonight, who is 0-6 with a 5.75 ERA for Philly. Those are pretty terrible numbers, but Falter hasn't pitched quite that badly. The young lefty has a FIP of 4.69 and a hard-hit rate of only 39.8%.

We aren't crazy about the Phillies bullpen, but we trust them a whole lot more than San Fran's. The Giants relievers have a combined ERA of 5.95 and a combined WHIP of 1.53! Philly's pen is sitting at 4.50 and 1.41, respectively.
