Our MLB props stumbled yesterday with a 1-2 record. Our 2 daytime picks were especially bad, as Lance Lynn ended up getting rocked by a paltry Giants lineup. Brandon Belt also let us down in a big way by going 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts.
Our only winner was on Dodgers youngster James Outman, who ended up going 2 for 3 to easily win our total bases prop. We're going through a rough run of variance in both the NBA and MLB right now. We have to trust the process, keep betting conservatively, and wait for the tide to turn.
Let's bounce back strong with 2 PrizePicks MLB props for Friday, April 7. Happy Easter weekend to all!
Stroman looked fantastic in his first start of the year against Milwaukee last week. He didn't allow a run and struck out 8 through 6 innings of solid work. However, we're expecting Stroman to regress in the strikeouts department today against Texas.
Texas has a revamped lineup that isn't overly prone to striking out. The Rangers rank 13th in strikeouts per game, which is slightly above average. Out of the entire Rangers lineup of regular players, only Josh Jung strikes out more than 25% of the time.
Keep in mind that Stroman only averaged 4.8 strikeouts per start in 2022, so some regression is likely today. There is some market disagreement on this one, but we're trusting our numbers and expecting Stroman to strike out no more than 5 hitters. Let's roll with the Under in this early game in the Windy Cindy.
O'Neill has gotten off to a good start this season. The 27-year-old outfielder is hitting a respectable .278 with a homer and 2 runs batted in. He'll be facing the Brewers and Brandon Woodruff tonight in Milwaukee. Woodruff has excellent stuff, especially when he has good command of his breaking pitches.
However, one thing we love about this play is O'Neill's history against Woodruff. He's hitting .267 with 3 home runs and 7 runs batted in through 15 career at-bats against the Brewers' right-hander. That makes us think that this total bases number should be listed at 1.5 instead of 0.5.
We have some solid market support behind us with this play. Both DraftKings and BetMGM are juicing the Over at -140. Caesars isn't too far behind at -139. That's telling us that O'Neill should be able to end up with at least one base hit this evening against Milwaukee. Take the Over!
